Hapi Daze. It’s a prototype for a possible future session ale, but in this early form at 5.4% ABV it’s a little strong to be considered a session beer.

Fro m a 330ml can on 1/4/2015. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a medium head. Has a lovely, powerful aroma of pineapple, rock melon, lychee and mango. In the mouth, it’s a real fruit cocktail, again pineapple, lychee and mango, along with some apricot. While sweet up front, that sweetness is met with a distinctive, lingering hop bitterness featuring some grapefruit and lots of lime. Medium bodied and average carbonation. A very good, refreshing, unusual ale.

Can@fonefan. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, rubbery and some slight mango notes as well. Flavour is rubbery, some sweet malts, mild earth as well as some floral bitterness. A bit herbal notes as for the finish as well.

Can. Tropical aromas of hoppiness and fruit - almost grapefruit - greets the nose. The taste is rich and very hoppy - also very fruity. Very, very nice and original!

330 ml can. Practically clear golden body with a white head. Very refreshing aroma of tropical fruit and grapefruit. Flavor is mild, soft pale malt, tropical fruit and bitter grapefruit. Light bodied, what might be consider perfect for this beer with a mostly fruity aftertaste. What a nice and refreshing summer beer this is.

4.8% can. Good aroma. Palate missing in the middle a shade. Kinda like the bitterness isn’t balanced. Touch of diacetyl. Ok

Amber coloured and hazy. Has a white head, lasting. Heavy hoppy aroma, More hoppy than a golden, more like an IPA. Citrus, fruity, mango. Faint burnt malts. Flavor starts moderate sweet, heavy hoppy notes. Bitter finish.

Medium coarseish offwhite head. Slightly hazy pale brown body with strong carbonation. Spicy gooseberry aroma with mealy resiny notes. Dryish mealy gooseberry and resin taste with peachy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mealy mouthfeel. Dryish gooseberry and resin aftertaste with dusty freshly cut wood notes. Some metallic and jarring notes, too. It’s good for a beer this light, but not perfect. (0.33l can, Gulating Ølutsalg, Strømmen.)
