The arrival of hops to the brewing scene in England in the 1500’s led to a moral panic. Hops were condemned as a “wicked and pernicious weed”, one which would lead to the erosion of social and moral standards. Thank goodness they were right. Here’s hoping that our homage to the original pernicious weed continues this gradual decline. Organic Rakau and whole cone Nelson Sauvin go head to head in this strong, golden, hoppy brew. Bitter, yes. Intensely hoppy, absolutely. Too much, never.

Bottle. Dark gold, cloudy, fine lace. Grassy, herbal nose, crackery, somewhat pissy, pot. Herbal, grassy flavor, catpiss, dry finish. Very nice malt balance--even but no syrupy sweetness. Very nice.

On tap @ voyager, kumamoto. Pours slightly hazy pale gold with rocky white head. Aroma is big piney and dank hops, fruity but not so citrusy, slight grassiness and breadiness. Big bright hop flavors, grassy and herbal in nature. A nice fresh-hopped IIPA that could use a little more backbone and body to round it out. Drinks almost like a super hoppy session.

Poors a clear hay with minimal head. Aroma is not as big as I was expecting but very pleasant and floral. Taste is bitter sweet very very smooth and the glass disappears just a little to quickly. Another tasty beer over all.

Flaska från Systembolaget. Grumlig bärnstensfärgad vätska med stort ljust skum. Doftar fantastiskt, nyskuren fruktsallad blandat med ängladam. Fruktig humledröm med stor beska. Riktigt jävla bra!

Hazy amber color. The mouth is slightly astringent driven by hop acidity. Big hoppiness, heady with good citrus character. Excellent

Yes! Finally another goosebump-inducing beer, it’s been a few weeks since the last one! The aroma is intense and is a near-perfect mix of caramel malt and overripe tropical fruits. The flavour is also intense, and includes impressive amounts of peach, mango, orange, grapefruit, pine and sweet caramel. Light to moderate sweet taste and a heavy bitter long-lasting finish. Medium body, dry texture, moderate carbonation. Garage Project know how to make hoppy beers!
