COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The arrival of hops to the brewing scene in England in the 1500’s led to a moral panic. Hops were condemned as a “wicked and pernicious weed”, one which would lead to the erosion of social and moral standards. Thank goodness they were right. Here’s hoping that our homage to the original pernicious weed continues this gradual decline. Organic Rakau and whole cone Nelson Sauvin go head to head in this strong, golden, hoppy brew. Bitter, yes. Intensely hoppy, absolutely. Too much, never.

Bottle. Great hop bitterness and aroma. I tasted more of the riwaka than the NS hops. Sweet citrus and pineapple flavours that linger pleasantly. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

And I thought GPs Death from Above was great beer, this was exceptional. 650ml bottle from Purple Palate poured a dark golden colour with nice head. Smelt great on the pour but its the initial taste that got me. The Nelson Sauvin hops really burst through in your mouth with all those wonderful tastes of citrus, pine and grapefruit but its the kick on the palate that was exceptional. Extreme bitterness that lingers well on, and very easy to drink for an 8% abv.Fantastic beer not unlike Hopwired, but GP does it again. Probably in my top 5 beers.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique February 2014. Big hoppy beer that packs a punch. Bit of fruit in the aroma, melon and pineapple? Tastes great and goes down a treat.

This beer is best had after a third or fourth, rather than as a first; its hop presence is a bit too heavy ("weedy") for a fist beer. As a third--after, say, two Liberty Citras--everything gets nicely balanced out, making the experience much more pleasurable. I?m impressed by this beer, no matter my variable response. I look forward to more from GP.

Medium konsistens, fin bitter ettersmak.

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Copper hazy, frothy beige head. Smell of tropical fruits, grapefruit, citrus zests, herbs and wood. After a while i also find hints of white wine and grapes. Medium sweet, grapefruit, quite tropical, nice spices and herbs. Heavy bitter, resins and grapefruit. A very nice DIPA, Nelson is a very nice hop!

Pint at Galbraiths. Pours golden without much head. Aroma is sweet, honey and floral hops with hints of pineapple and toffee. Smokey initially, taste is of passionfruit, pineapple, medium roasted malts with a strong bitter, grassy, citrus aftertaste. On the whole a very well balanced dry beer.

Pours clear golden with a shall white head. Earthy and tropical fruity aroma with excellent balance. Some pineapple and citrus with cut grass. Taste is sweet tropical fruits and boldly hop dominated, but somehow complimented nicely by the malt backbone. The abv is hidden well. I would have again

Rigger from bottle store. The aroma sprung out upon pouring. Big aroma; stinking of hops. Taste is balanced though and the alcohol common in the imperial space is well hidden by these big hops I mentioned earlier. In terms of a big hops beer, this is is satisfying.
