PilsíNíThrills is the Garageís irreverent take on a classic European Pilsner, given extra kick with high-citrus American hops.

SBWF 2015. Clear golden beer with a quite novīce lasting off-white head. Malty caramel aroma, grassy, peach, pine, bread, some grass. Bready hop flavor, caramel, biscuits, peach, grass, some passion fruit. Hoppy citrus finish with caramel notes. Quite ok.

Multiple pints on tap. Lightly hazed gold body with a short white head. Snazzy, snappy hop aroma: green, vegetal, peppery / spicy, Saaz-like in itís cheesy mustiness and pithiness but more Spalt-like in itís lemon juiciness (I have no idea what hops are used, they say all American). Luscious body, wonderfully soft malt, clean Pilsner malt biscuit / baked bread presentation. Lightly sweet, strongly hoppy but not strongly bitter. A lemon balm bomb of a hoppy Pilsner, not a touch of hop resin whatsoever, itís expressive and clean and the soft carbonation and malt contrast well with the pithy, almost-bitter lemon and passion fruit character. Similar in appearance, body, aroma and flavor to Evil Twin Yellow Cab.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique December 2013. One of the tamer Garage Project Beers this one pours a golden amber with a clean white head. There are some hop aromas instead of the usual grain aromas I find in most pilseners and it has a fair bit of flavour as well.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours clear golden yellow with a small, firm white head. Nose is very fruit driven - tangerine, blood orange, apricot, peach. Much more hops than anticipated. Taste is predominately tangy styled fruits, light biscuit and caramel malts. A heap of apricot and lychee notes. Quite sweet fruits. Works well. Very sessionable. Great beer

The head is good, the body blond. It smells malty, bit dusty. The taste is malty, hoppy, nice, maltaromatic, bit fruity, hoppy, good balanced. 3.6

Pours gold/amber with a fading white head. Nose shows spicy and floral hops. Also some bready malt. Pretty aggressive flavours. Very bitter. Some spicy hops and pine along with a soft grapefruit note. The sharp bitterness is overbearing. Carbonation seems excessive.

Crisp and clean with a good hop profile. Has some nice character building dough tones to hold up those spicy hops. Quite enjoyable.

On tap at Pomeroyís as part of a six taps in six days special that I managed to catch the tail end of. Put in my hand was a clear yellow-golden pint with limited head, which I attribute to gas pourage and temperature. Aromas of fruity citrussy hops, redolent of plenty of New Zealandís (other) fine green export. Tangy tangelo and blood orange entice the drinker and this appears in the flavour with a lovely smack of bitterness. It is something that is becoming a bit of a rarity in New Zealand brewing circles, a pilsner done well.
