We love NZ Hops. How much? Hereís how much. Triple hopped with, Pacifica, Motueka and Riwaka hops in increasingly lavish quantities throughout the boil, Trip Hopís bitter but (we hope) balanced on a malt base of pale, Carahelles, Vienna and Caraaroma. Rich amber red and redolent of the Nelson hop fields. Think easy drinking for resin heads and pucker up.

From the FYO at Regional. Rich amber red, clingy pale brown head. Thereís a lot of resiny hops wafting out of the beer, canít really pick up any malt scent; but the colour indicates something interesting must be going on in there. In the mouth, though, it just explodes. Rich, sharp, orange-peel-and-spruce, a long lemony after taste, which seems to sharpen upwards as the flavour fades to an strong bitter tang. Very much a hop head ale, not as complex as they probably wouldíve liked, but it has a roundness in the mouth that makes it a nice change from lighter, sharper IPAs.

Picked up from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours a hazy brown with a tan head. Aroma is resinous with slight citrus backed by hints of roasty and nutty characters. It's moderately carbonated with a very delicate mouthful. Taste is resin with a slight bitterness and with hints of peanuts. This was fairly easy drinking and very well balanced.

A thick looking amber colour with a thick cream colored head. Not a particularly strong nose - getting sweet fruits and floral scents. Raisins and peach mostly. Really sweet upfront with some strong pine notes. Complex formation of bitterness at the end, with different layers of bitter tapering off with time. Nice dense mouth feel with a gentle carbonation and thick mouth coating.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours crystal clear amber with some small bubbles on top. Nose is sweet lychee, resin, toffee and raisin. Kind of borders on christmas cake type fruits with that level of sweetness. Taste is very sticky sweet with loads of toffee and pineapple straight up. Loaded with sweet and sticky fruits with bright and dark fruits playing a role - pineapple, lychee, lemon, raisin and banana. Quite a resinous beer and fairly spritzy. Lively stuff. Definitely on the sweet side of things and the booze is there for sure. Solid

Bottle from Slowbeer (Nov 2013). Dark copper-brown, 1cm creamy off-white head, peaches, pears, piney hops, sweet biscuity malt, sharp dry bitterness, medium body, smooth creamy texture, long bitter finish. Very nice.

Strong hoppy aroma, resin, fruit cup, pear, maraschino cherries, sugar syrup, a touch of honey. Sweet and hoppy with moderate bitterness. Soft, fine, frothy carbonation, malt is firm and rigid. Washing of sugar from the tongue by acidic hop oils. From draft at the brewery in Wellington.

On tap, I guess in one of the bars in Wellington. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma is citric, has some pine. Slightly hazy, copper coloured beer with a white head. The taste is quite bitter, citric, piney, bit (biscuity) malty. Nice.

Looks.. Darker amber, red tinge,sml-med creamy head. Smells..tropical and piney hops, loads of sweet biscuit-y malts. Tastes.. Lots of fruity and piney hops, dark honey, biscuit from the malts. It is íeasy drinkingí, but has enough knackers to be a great sessionable @ 5.6%. Good job GP

yeah, na. Delivers by way of aroma ,and a bunch of notes that I wasnít familiar with, but they donít follow to the palate. Malt is nice and adds a pleasing feel , but there isnít a carry or length and this ends up a bit thin. I donít not like it, I just donít think itís hit the mark. But It drank well and quickly, so thats a win :-)

Good one - more malty to my palate than Death From Above - therefore heavier bodied and thicker on the tongue - otherwise quite a similar overall taste profile - very very satisfying - big hops to balance the malt - like a West Coast of US brew.

Solid beer. Very well balanced and english style IPA. Well worth trying, unfortunately it is expensive for what it is.
