Venusian Pale Ale, a precocious little number using some of the more unusual local flora and fauna you find hanging around here in the less civilized parts of the solar system. Lemon grass, kaffir lime leaf and grapefruit peel that we pinched from rations, meld seamlessly with Venusian Spear Fungus and that funny green stuff the local chappies seem to like licking off the rocks. Zesty is the word that springs to mind and at 7.3% abv itís bloody good for morale. Incidentally, it works just like napalm on the natives, which is handy.

Pours orange with a small white head. Big floral nose on this exhibiting orange blossom, lemon, lime, grass and coriander. Waxy/light resin mouthfeel with grapefruit, orange and lime the heroes. Great floral pale ale. Could live on this.

Not noticeable by aroma but first sense in the palate is a bouquet of floral notes! I mean lots of flowers. Not really big on this at all. Light bodied no real pale ale fullness I enjoy.

650 ml bottle @ ōltorget, Vulkan May 2014. Light foggy, almost clear orange golden body with a nice, foamy, long lasting off-white head. A bit mild, but delicious aroma of fruit including grapefruit and lime with malt and spices. Flavor is refreshing and amazingly balanced with medium sweet malt, citric fruit, lemon, citric zest, spices and pleasant bitterness. Medium body and pleasant fruity bitter aftertaste. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber body with a small white head. Nose is red berries, peaches, apricot and hints of pine, grass and melon. Taste is red berries, peaches, sweet wine gum-like esters. Medium to light body, medium to high carbonation. Not very impressive, but this one has obviously seen better times.

From a 650ml bottle on 26/1/2015. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a small head. Has a gorgeous floral, fruity nose with some definite west coast IPA elements to it. Take a sip and itís clear youíre dealing with something special. Thereís oodles of lovely tropical, stone and citrus fruit sweetness (mango, peach, apricot and mandarin), along with the promised kaffir lime leaves, and a big, firm grapefruity hop bitterness. Tha palate is exquisite - silky and syrupy, with the modest carbonation spot on in the circumstances. This is seriously one on the best pale ales youíll ever try. Super complex and moreish, it actually manages to leave many IPAs in the shade in terms of flavour, balance and character. A truly sensational brew.

Fresh and bright. Grapefruit peel and rose water. Lots of citrus. Crisp, lingering finish

@Archive 650 bottle. Strange and unusual this one, almost white wine like as most of the descriptions that come to mind are similar..........another round? probably not.

Pours a crystal clear gold color with a bright white head. I get lots of alcohol in the nose. Not much else, honestly. Just a vague hop note. The flavor is much more complex. At first just alcohol, but quickly moving on to mint, star anise, and lemongrass. There is also something I canít put my finger on. I assume itís the kaffir lime leaves. No detectable character malts (as the color suggests). Quite bitter with some astringency. The body is on the light side and the bold flavors quickly fade into the Venusian mist.

(Bottle) Clear golden amber with good white head. Nice crisp citrusy aroma - grapefruit with pine notes and some sweeter floral or stone fruit hints. Medium body with good carbonation. Taste has lovely fresh citrus start and quickly develops hoppy bitterness that grows into a a sustained decently bitter finish. There are some biscuity malty undertones from the mid palate. A very decent pale ale.
