COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Venusian Pale Ale, a precocious little number using some of the more unusual local flora and fauna you find hanging around here in the less civilized parts of the solar system. Lemon grass, kaffir lime leaf and grapefruit peel that we pinched from rations, meld seamlessly with Venusian Spear Fungus and that funny green stuff the local chappies seem to like licking off the rocks. Zesty is the word that springs to mind and at 7.3% abv it’s bloody good for morale. Incidentally, it works just like napalm on the natives, which is handy.

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Copper, very hazy, creamy beige head. Smell of citrus, orange peel, some spices and caramel, hints of diacetyl. Medium sweet, juicy, alot of fruity citrus, quite drinkable. Ends with a medium bitter finish. The added stuff is not all that present i’m afraid. G P has done it better in other beer i’ve tasted

Wonderful - GLORIOUS - aroma of chompu/rose apples and lychees. One would expect a true fruit basket, straight out of venus. The sweetness of the aroma though is killed by the bitterness from the taste. Grassy, cutting through the taste buds like a knife. Too bitter for me...

Dunkel lys gyllen farve med lyst skum. Lukt av lys malt, karamell og grapefrukt. Smak av malt, karamell, sitrus og furunål. Fruktig. Vinmonopolet.

A big golden amber pint with a finger of white head, good clarity and a finger of white head. Those kaffir lime and grapefruit aromas pungently assault the nose on the first snorts. It is perfumy and overwhelms anything else in partnership with lemon zest, but when it smells this good, there’s no worries here. Those flavours come through with a massive twinge of sour bitterness. Juicy, tangy and almost piquant. Tasty stuff.

650 ml bottle @ home.July 03, 2014. Beer from a tulip glass on my balcony. Beer bought @ "Vinmonopolet Vika", Oslo. Label says 7,5 % ABV. Best before 11.11.2014. Dark golden to orange in color with a beige head and medium carbonation. Aroma is spicy, pine, citrus and some malt. Tastes spicy and a bit fruity.Ends in a bitter finish. Very spicy and citrusy taste for a beer in my opinion. This beer was not my cup of tea.

Flaske fra polet. Hvit skum. Aroma av gress og koriander tre. Smak av malt sitrus lime og noe ubestemmelig. Litt merkelig smak men spennende øl.

Bottle, 65 cl, at Øltorget, Vulkan. A small, dense, off-white head forms over an orange-golden body. The aroma is spiced and peppery, some cedar like notes occur, there’s lots of citrus peel, some lemon grass and apricot. It’s a bit too bitter I think, and there’s more lemongrass than I’d like, but it also have the same spiced, peppery and cedar like things found in the aroma. Citrus peel too. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming, with a nice carbonation level. Lasting finish with lime and bitterness. Wonderful aroma in this one, pity the flavor isn’t at the same level. Still, it’s a fine brew. 140503

Biggish offwhite head. Clear yellow body with lots of floaties. Tropcial fruit, resin and mint aroma with spicy herbal orangey notes. Sweet-dryish strawy toffee and herbs taste with gingery resiny notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish gingery resiny orangey aftertaste with spicy herbal notes. Nice, mild, drinkable, interesting, different. Really an unusual beer. (0.75l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Bottle at home. Has a cloudy orange colour with a medium, off-white head. Fruity aroma with spices, lime, grapefruit and coriander. The flavour has more fruity hops, tropical fruits, spices, grass and cardamom. Slick mouth feel, and has a medium bitterness. A fruity, well balanced and nicely spiced pale ale.
