COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Venusian Pale Ale, a precocious little number using some of the more unusual local flora and fauna you find hanging around here in the less civilized parts of the solar system. Lemon grass, kaffir lime leaf and grapefruit peel that we pinched from rations, meld seamlessly with Venusian Spear Fungus and that funny green stuff the local chappies seem to like licking off the rocks. Zesty is the word that springs to mind and at 7.3% abv it’s bloody good for morale. Incidentally, it works just like napalm on the natives, which is handy.

Bottle from BCS shared with family at New Years. Pours a slighty hazy gold with a finger of white foam. Big kaffir lime nose with lemon zest, crackery malts and ruby red grapefruit. Below average carbonation with a slight smooth mouthfeel. Lots of lemongrass on the palate. Fruity and bitter with more citrus coming through on the finish. Refreshing beer.

Lemon, bread and yeasty aromas. Pours lightly clouded golden with a persistent low foam. Slightly sweet, lemony but with a rich mouth feel. Good pale ale with added complexity from the vegetal additions.

Bottle @ ÖÖWF2015: ARoma is grassy and hoppy. Slightly peppery and forest notes. Taste is pretty sweet with an interesting middle sensation, lime, lemongrass and slightly woody. The aftertaste turns into grapefruit bitterness. Interesting brew.

65 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori.
Pours clear golden color with a large head. Very perfume-y aroma here, herbal, some pine and orange. Slightly sweet caramel flavor, some resinous hops, herbal tones and some mango, mild grapefruits too. Unique aroma and the flavor isn’t that bad either.

HKdIPA (675) - HONG KONG - OCT 16, 2015
Tap at Little Beer Room soft opening before flight to Verna and Tino's wedding. Translucent orange-amber. Lots of lacing, sticky head. Aroma is perfumed hops - herbal lavender? Taste follows - big herbal hops and tea/lavender. Weird. Not bad. Smooth palate. Booze and malt good. Weird but not bad. Wouldn't get again.

Clear, deep golden body with a very large, creamy, white and very long-lived head that ends up as a fully lasting layer. Excellent lacing. Strong aroma of massive grapefruit, tropical fruits, and a herbal background including lemon balm (after reading the label I guess this is lemon grass). Very strong flavour of citrus, especially grapefruit, but also lemon and lime. Sweet tropical fruits, caramel and herbs. Light to moderate sweet taste with a heavy bitter and herbal bitter finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and a quite dry finish. Good stuff!

>> My favorite beer from the festival probably because of how intense the flavors were - super herbal and sharp. Four samples. A big standout amongst IPAs that begin to blur together. Clear reddish tinged copper pour. Gigantic lacing. Ultra zesty ruby red grapefruit character in nose and taste. Bracing lemongrass that doesn’t go chemical or perfume on me. Refreshing and novel.
