Fresh, fruity and creamy. Apparently the pioneering example, and it is pretty good.

Riecht sehr erfrischend und hopfig, der Antrunk ist lecker ’kölschig’, typisch mild und ein wenig herb. Leider ist der Geschmack schnell verschwunden und der Nachgeschmack löst sich schnell in Wasser auf, dennoch im großen und ganzen ordentlich, weshalb ich nicht verstehe, das dieses Kölsch schwer zu beschaffen ist. Golden coloured. Medium sweet, softly vanillaish, medium bitter, fresh.

Bottle, 4.8%. Weak aroma, slightly citric. Clear golden colour, small stable white head. Weak malty flavour, slightly citric, quite refreshing. Low bitterness.

bottle, traded with Koelschtrinker. Clear golden yellow, large, very creamy and extremely persistent and stable white head. Malty and slightly hoppy with a fruity touhc. Well-balanced Kölsch.

Good, irregularily build yellowish head over well-carbonated straw-golden beer. Grain, CO², mown grass and young hard cheese as jonge Gouda. Sharpish grassy taste, followed by sweet, lightly toasted malts. Fairly dry finish. Light to medium bodied, grist slickness. Decent if nothing more Kölsch, seemingly slightly sturdier than most. Sweet but not too sweet. Txs, SebS.

6 ratings what the hell. Had this a Delirium Tremens Cafe in Brussels and i didn’t see it in Cologne when I was there a couple years earlier. Mediocre klosh pretty much sums it up. Page 183 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 397 out 500 Classic Brews to go.

The bottle looks simple, almost like a cheap beer. Starts dry, prickly-zippy with a mild fruityness. A bit moldy in the background. Not bad!
