COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Hef is made in the style of a Hefeweizen (pronounced ‘Hayfavietzen’). It’s light, tart notes are married to a clovey taste and aroma, the combination of which produces our outstanding summer nectar. We call it the Hef because the girls love it and the guys feel loved when they drink it.

on tap-pours a tight retaining white head and cloudy straw color. Aroma is clove, citrus-lime, some wheat. Taste is clove, wheat, cream soda/alcohol. As it warms, banana on aroma and taste. Soft carbonation.

(Rating #3143)

Part of sampler at brewpub. Not impressed with this one either. Not one of the better wheat beers I have had. On the bland side with very little distinguishing characteristics.

My Bottom Line:
This clumsy Weizen’s throws together doughy yeast and citrusy wheat in a loosely bubbly and thin mouthfeel where banana esters and clove phenols are few and far between.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the turbid pale yellow.
-This is not nearly as successful as their Kölsch for quenching purposes and cleanliness of flavor profile.
-There are lots of straight wheat flavors, with few subtleties.
-Herbal hop bitterness seals every sip.

On tap at the brewpub.
