On gravity at the Tuckers Maltings Beer festival, Newton Abbot 23/04/10. Near black in colour with a slight tan head. Aroma of black coffee and dark fruit. Flavours of plum, roasty malts leading to a dry finish. Good.

Bottle at home... as Dawlish Porter 4.6% ... deep copper brown ... thin tan head ... soft sweet chocolate fig nose ... over fizzy ... soft sweet toffee ... little oxidation ... little medicianal in linger ... just not balanced....

Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, leather, light coffee, dry, dissolvent. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20100119]

Ungstrup (23975) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 19, 2010
Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of dissolvent. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, dissolvent, and other not so nice things.

Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 19, 2010
Bottle 50 cl. Cear orangey brown with a lacing, rough off-white head. Roasted malts and dark fruits in the nose. Medium body, some roast but dominated by an odd chemical tang that clearly must be a fermentation error. Tar notes as well. No real bitterness. A very, very poor Porter. 190110
