Bottle, 6.5%. Citric and sour aroma, a bit unpleasant. Clear dark brown colour, fizzy head disappearing completely. The flavour is malty, but also a bit sour and quite clearly infected. Almost drinkable. Unexpected from such a big brewery.

Bottle. Clear, reddish brown body with an off-white head. Some cooked vegetables in the aroma, but luckily they disappeares rather quickly, and are replaced by some alcohol, malt and a roasted note. Sweet and malty flavor, with a little fruityness and dried fruits. Medium to full body. Sweet, malty finish. I miss some of that warming feeling, but it is a quite nice bock. (070928)
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 3, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl). Beautiful deep amber coloured beer with no head to speak of. Actually surprisingly light for a bock, with a small body. Or else I’m enjoying it too cold. Sweetness yes. Bitterness, yes. But this bock doesn’t make the bells peal. 250903
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (6730) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 17, 2004
(draught) No (beer)colour rating possible - served in a Stein; yellow-amber tinted head, receding. Quite malty, slightly heady and obviously yeasty nose. Very nutty - hazelnut - taste, and bread. Quite sweet, but nowhere cloying. Medium to well bodied. A bit powdery, slick mouthfeel. Better than average Bock. Not a world-beater, but well worth trying.
