COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep golden, medium bodied and nicely bitter, Hopyard Pale is exceptional in the West Coast style. Generous hopping in the boil and further dry-hopping produce a fruity/floral aroma and refreshingly bitter finish. A true thirst quencher!

My Bottom Line:
Oranges, flowers and herbs are evoked throughout this Pale Ale, adding pizzazz to lightly caramelized cereals and an earthy hop aftertaste.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A mushroom-like head of foam laces all the way down the misty golden orange.
-Green peppercorns also appear in the hop bitterness.
-The smooth effervescence helps build a pleasant mouthfeel.
-This is not a fashionable Pale Ale these days, as it is not blond and made from super citrusy hops. However, it remains a very tasty and efficient Pale Ale for hopheads who don’t follow trends that much.

Bottle.

Bottle in Parrsboro. It pours hazy golden - orange with a decent white head. The nose is doughy, creamy, minerals, orange peel, apricot, toasted grass and light floral notes. The taste is crisp, bitter, minerals, peppery spice, bitter orange, waxy grapefruit, grassy bitterness, apricot, dough and cracker with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Crisp, bitter and thirst quenching. Decent apa.

Light orange copper body loads of lasting foamy white head and nice lacing. Metallic hoppy aroma, herbal. Taste is slightly bitter, biscuity, bitter aftertaste. Also a touch of a sweet fruitiness once it warms up. Not a bad APA.

An awesome Pale Ale. Lots of lovely citrusy flavours balanced with bitter pine, lemon, and some mild grassiness.

Rating #1053 - April 7, 2014 - #mondaynightbeers @RevolutionYeg, 8 oz on draught, 5.3%, Big golden pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is sweet piney, lemony, mild grassiness. Taste is a blast of citrusy sweetness, tempered by a decent punch of hoppy bitterness. Not unbelievably memorable, but a decent APA. Nice.

Pours a clear copper color with average carbonation. One finger head kept minimal retention but laces well. Begins with sweet caramel tones which fade into citrus and finally dry hop tastes. Medium bitterness falling somewhere between an ESB and IPA.
