COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Launched and enthusiastically received at the first annual Halifax Seaport Beer Fest in August 2007, this ale has quickly become known as the hoppiest beer in Atlantic Canada! Imperial Pale Ale is a robust, medium bodied west coast style ale with a lingering hop bitterness complimented by a malty caramel backbone and a strong citrus character. This beer is for the true hophead!

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Enjoyit. Pours a hazy deep amber with a creamy off-white head. Sweet overripe fruit and caramel in the nose. Medium body, sweet caramel and fruit at first but then quite some dusty hops leaving a massive bitterness. 290111

Hazy red-amber color; medium head. The aroma of hop is very piney. The body is lean; good toffee flavor, some caramel too, with low sweetness, followed by strong bitterness (maybe too much), resiny; and there is some lack of sugars overall. Aggressive.

Bottle @ Ulfborg Weekend, Jan 2011. Pours unclear amber with a small creamy white head. Nose is pine and grapefruit. Bitter and a bit rough hoppy flavor. Lots of pine and grapefruit. Really dry and bitter:-). Medium and smooth body. Bitterness lasts throughout . . .BOOM.

Hazy orangey-amber. Big rocky head is gorgeous. Woody nose...light grapefruity accents with crystal malt and some toastiness. Rich chewy crystal malt palate with a deep woody bitterness that lingers a bit. Dry and rich...big brew and well-made. Perhaps not as bright as I’d prefer in an IPA.

Bottle, courtesy of Enjoyit. It pours a hazy, orange-golden body with a small, off-white head. A bit weak on the nose, slightly perfumed, and with pinecones and citrus peel. Malty sugars too. It’s full-bodied and slightly warming, pleasantly carbonated. The flavor has a good bitterness, resins and grapefruit. Bitter finish with an almost balancing sweetness. A quite nice one, the aroma a bit weak though. 110129

Thanks to geth_in_beer for this one. Hazy orange colour. Rich aroma of orange peel, tangerine and a soft resin with lots of fruity character. Very citrusy character. Some toffeeish malt character. The flavour is a bit strange with an odd celery-salt like characteristic along with the soft resin and sweet orange peel. Quite fresh and hoppy, full-bodied. it’s a very nice beer.
