3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted in Toronto. Picked up in Halifax. Damn, I love this f’ing town. It is a city built and developed fro Ed Heffernan. Christ, I am Irish. Christ. Nice wicked bitter flavour, bile and liver juice and such. Really wonderful. Like suckingling the mender from a swollen cows livers juices. So wonderful. I have had some more bitter IPAs, but certainly not from Halifax. Good Job boys.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 mL bottle. Pours hazy amber with a foamy white head of lace. Aromas of tangerine, honey, beeswax, pomelo and grapefruit. Moderately sweet on the palate, followed by a bracing hop bitterness that balances out quite nicely. Medium plus body with slightly below average carbonation. Leaves a lingering sticky feeling on the palate. Not as dry as many; well done.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy coppery golden. Juicy dusty goldings tinged aroma. Sweet maltiness, moderate caramel. Moderate bitterness. Decent earthy hop flavor, not @stale. No idea how old this is but, while not super bright and fresh tasting, this is still enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very attractive dark amber colour with suspended particles (which is something I like, oddly enough.) Nice yellow-white head, carrying a sweet, citrus nose that has a hint of Belgian about it. Flavour is sweet, the caramel malt making itself known with a pine-resin background. A rich pale ale that would go well with something spicy, i think. Very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: Draft at Maxwell’s Plum, 7/7/13
Aroma: The nose is fairly hoppy, with some citrus fruit, pine, and some caramel malts
Appearance: It pours an orange-amber color, with a decent sized beige head on it
Flavor: The flavor is on-style, with a decent sized malty sweetness and plenty of hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, it has some stickiness, and a dry finish
I thought this was a solid-to-good example of the style. It is right on from a component perspective. This isn’t an amazing example, but it solidly made.
