This classic beer style was inspired by centuries of Celtic brewing history. Specialty roasted malts such as crystal and carastan dominate Irish Red Ale resulting in a ruby red colour and smooth malty taste.

Deep red colour not much head or lacing. Dried fruit aroma biscuity. Sweet malty taste a touch of cocoa. Overall pretty basic red ale. Not bad but not interesting either. Acceptable.

Translucent copper brown. Many visible bubbles Small head. Pleasant aroma consisting of malt, caramel, and dried, candied fruit (particularly cherry). Thin and relatively smooth. Caramel, dried cherry, malt, and a wee bit of tart, with a mildly hoppy and dry finish. Also not overly sweet as the flavours may insinuate, due to the dry balance. Quite good for the style.

Pours clear red-tinted medium amber with a short off-white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, no lacing. (3/5) Nose is caramel malt, bready yeast, maybe slight nuttiness. (6/10) Taste is mild sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Medium body, low sustained carbonation, lingering sticky toffee and bitter finish. (4/5) Pretty straightforward red - not a lot to say about it. Had it, move on. (12/20)

Pours a clear dark red with a tan head that didnít stick around too long. Some aromas of bread, syrup, and caramel. Has a light-medium body with quite a bit of carbonation. Very malt forward with a slight roasted flavors as well. Medium bitterness. This isnít a terrible beer, but definitely not on my watchlist.

Decent reddish brown, but head is fizzy and fading. Points off. Aroma is malty, biscuit and caramel a little. Taste is better than the aroma; malty again but a little stronger with a longish toffee finish. Feel is actually good, not thin. Overall, not a bad beer if youíre somewhere for one and this is on tap. But Iíd move on after one.

A fine red, nothing memorable however. Pours a nice clear amber. Smells a bit of tropical fruit. Taste is basic, a bit of fruit, with a balanced finish. Had in the bottle at the brewery.
