JAF737300 (733), New York, New York, USA Oct 25, 2007 Pours golden with heavy notes of jalapeno. This is very dominant on the palate with a decent backflow of some malt and light hops. The pepper lingers.
Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2008 Bright orange with off-white head. Sweet caramel malt with some butter but not much and a nice hint of the pepper. High but soft carbonation. Lots of jalapeno character. Not a whole lot of malt character and if it did have, would be beefed up and a better beer. Leaves a good burn in the throat. Not nearly as bad as I was led to believe. Spab (56), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 13, 2008 341 mL bottle from brewery. Pours a deep orange colour with a moderate though quickly disappearing off white head. Strong jalapeno aroma. Powerful jalapeno taste with a lot of heat. Interesting beer but hardly one I want seconds of. Beth101 (122), West Yorkshire, England Aug 4, 2008 Dark honey in colour with a small head. Aroma of peppers and fruit with a strong taste of peppers. Got hotter as I reached the bottom of the glass. jjpm74 (3127), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours gold with a white head. Smells of jalapeno. Tastes vegetal and sweet with a bite on the finish. I wish this was a locally available brew. mullet2007 (124), Newfoundland, Canada Dec 23, 2007 Pours a nice amber sort of color with no head to speak of. Initially you wouldn’t exactly suspect that it had so much kick, the nose is pretty much just hops and maybe some backing malt, but not too much pepper, same thing on the initial taste. You get a lot of nice bitter hops and some solid caramely malt flavors, but then the jalapeno flavor comes out and that sort of takes away from the flavor of the beer itself. It’s actually somewhat nice, not too too hot, and a really nice pepper flavor. Not something I’d want to drink a lot of especially not all at once, but not a bad beer to sit and have one of.
