COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heavily roasted malts and full bodied taste characterize this darkest of traditional brews. Martello Stout is uncompromisingly bold like the unique towers which defended our early maritime shores.

500ml bottle pours almost black in color with a quickly receding 2 fingers of light tan head which left some spotted lacing behind. Aroma is light roasted malts and espresso. Taste is a espresso bitterness with some light malty sweetness and light hop bitterness. Not being a coffee drinker, this brew had a little too much coffee flavor for my liking, but is still a decent quality stout.

500ml bottle. Deep, opaque brown pour with average mocha head that recedes too quickly. The nose is odd for a stout; burnt espresso with a real barnyardy edge and a light hop presence. Good roasty feel in the mouth with a mostly one dimensional espresso taste that finishes with a light bitterness. A little light in the body. Overall more impressive than anything I’ve had from these guys in quite a while which isn’t really saying much.

Bottle. Nice smokey aroma, coffee, dried fruit. Dark cola colour with a brown head. Taste is bitter smokey, but a touch watery, coffee, chocolate. Palate is kind of lackluster, not much happening.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. There’s a spiced smoke aroma which promise much flavour but does not deliver. Very dark, a pretty enough beer, but lacking in taste.

Pour dark black coffee brown head. Aroma chocolate, cereal grain, roasty, off smell that isn’t good. Taste chocolate, cocoa, roast, watery. MF medium body water fine fizzy carb. Meh all around not the greatest.

Pours a nice dark colour with a dirty brown coloured head. Taste is a bit thin but sweet chocolate and coffee descent flavours overall a little thin
