COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heavily roasted malts and full bodied taste characterize this darkest of traditional brews. Martello Stout is uncompromisingly bold like the unique towers which defended our early maritime shores.

Deep dark reddish black ale with a thin moka head. Light sweet roasted malt with raisiny overtones, vanilla and chocolate. Roasted malts comes out in mouth, with powdery chocolate, light hops in finish, but very little body for a stout. Very decent but thin, leaves you wanting more substance. Bought at Brewery March 2005.

A thin head, a nice color. But seemingly thin for a stout. Ok flavor.... expected it to be more bold.

341 ml bottle. Black beer with a thin but persistent brown head. Nice roasty aroma, some cassis/blackberry fruitiness. Flavour is chocolatey, with a touch of earthiness, light fruit, and a nice roastiness. Creamy body. Fruitiness intensifies as the beer warms.

Disappointing. After a promising start it falls through...well maybe the very small head should have given enough warning, but the aroma was OK. Starts out thin in the middle, but strong burned taste gradually builds up.Aftertaste is good.

Not much head, dark body. Tangy toasted malt witha hint of licorice. Mild hop presence A bit flat, drinkable but not in huge quantities.

Bottle. Dark black pour, small tan head. Strong stale coffee aroma. Mouthfeel was extremely thin for the style. Taste is dominated by coffee - this beer needed much more body to support this taste - as is, in overwhelms it, much like their blueberry wheat. It is too bad, this brewery has some good ideas; I’d still like to try some of their other brews.

Black body with a very nice khaki head that dissipates. Aroma of coffee and very slight metallic notes. Flavour is dominated by very dry astringent (?) coffee grounds. Tastes like I imagine the results of squeezing out a coffee filter would. Palate is average but too thin for this beer. Not for me. Thanks for the bottle OKBeer.

very sweet for a stout, but rich black in color. much lighter in taste and therefore much more accessible than Guiness. probably not for Stout connoisseurs, but still a very good beer
