3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep reddish brown ale with a collapsing off-white head. Aroma of sweet moka café and vanilla and butterscotch. Sweet malt balls with roasted notes, with some coffee, and light burned acidity, faint hops. Light bodied with oily mouthfeel. Simple and pleasing. Bought at brewery March 2005.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep brown color, with a tan-colored head, nice coffee beans roastiness nose, with a mochaish accent, mild roasted malt, hint of dark bitter chocolate in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with toasted malt, a mochaish roastiness character, with a mild burnt toast hint of brown latté cappucino, with a vanilla spiciness, black coffee note, cold coffee, leading trowards a roasted bitterness finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Moderate aromas of molasses, dark chocolate and mild coffee for the malt, light herbs for the hops, leather for the yeast, with brown sugar and cola. Head is fizzy with large bubbles, off white, with virtually no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic, moderately bitter and a little sour. Palate is medium, watery and has a fizzy carbonation. Not as bad as I expected considering the style. It has a pleasant aroma and the flavor make this very drinkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy deep reddish brown. Tiny bubbly tan head, gone in 6 seconds. Definite coffee aroma with a bit of spiciness and some subdued toffee-maltiness. Thin body, roasted coffee dominant flavor with bitter, dry finish. Not too awfully bad. I’d drink it again.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle courtesy of geth_in_beer. Many thanks. Deep brown beer with rich garnet highlights. The aroma is quite nice, light cocoa and a soft coffeeish aroma on the nose. Some light roast and a touch of tartness. Very light-bodied. OK, but not great.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark, opaque brown with a thin but mostly lasting, frothy, tan coloured head. Roasted expresso and chocolate aroma (reminds me of a Tim Horton's double double strangely enough). Mostly deep bitter dark roast expresso flavour, touch of chocolate and earthiness. Astringent bitter finish. Medium bodied, but a bit watery, especially on the finish. And to answer Joey_capps, the underlying style is Garrison Brown Ale.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown but somewhat, though not overly, translucent. Dry, dusty coffee aroma. Medium bodied but not chewy. Intense expresso, coffee flavour, slightly sweet but not much else.
Not quite sure what the underlying style is but it is not a porter.
The coffee flavour comes from espresso beans and not the malt.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very dark brown. Nice fluffy tan head but it gives up quickly. Aroma of coffee grounds or fresh roasted coffee. Thin bodied, kind of watery. Not much to back up the bit of roast coffee notes. Thanks OKBeer.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
nice mocha aroma, appearance was a nice dark ruby, nice lacing on the glass. mouthfeel was quite thin.......meh nothing special. i know straight up porters with more of a coffee taste. but for an ale, it’s decent.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle (341ml). Think I got this one from jerc. Very deep ruby, clear but hard to see through, huge foamy beige head. Sweet and floral aroma - cola syrup and perfumey hops. Taste is --- wow, that’s ferrous - the tang of blood and beets, ultimately sweet and a little floral, reminds me of the carrot juice my mother made, where she’d toss in all sorts of stuff to hide the sickly taste of fresh carrot juice. Very watery, mildly carbonated, quick finishing, not much alcohol character - frankly, I think your friends who don’t like beer would jump on this - just tell them it’s "organic" and "fair trade" and they’ll shit themselves to get some, since those words mean nothing anyway. Pussies.
