COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Germany’s most popular fall beer, this "Oktoberfest-Brau" is brewed in the traditional marzen style. Pleasant toffee-like flavours, medium body and low hopping make this a seasonal lager worthy of celebration. Prosit!

Bottle from the LCBO. Vibrant ruby-copper colour with a two-finger head of off-white foam. Nice and simple aroma of nutty malt with subdued backing hops. Medium bodied with a slight creaminess. Malt forward flavour with caramel and toasted nut notes, with restrained hops in the finish. While I’d personally prefer the hops to pop a bit more, it’s still a very well made beer, and quite enjoyable.

Amber color body, the head is big, but the retention is somehow mediocre. Aroma is sweet caramel, rye bread, fresh herbal hops, yeast and some spices. Taste is a nice mix of caramel and wonderful aromatic hops with a good backstage breadiness. Really good balance between bitterness and sweetness. Great job Garrison.

500mL bottle from LCBO. Pours a nice clear orange with a thick white head. Slight toffee aroma, with some yeasty and metallic notes. Sweet taste up front, which quickly gives way to a dry metallic finish, with not much else in between. Some hints toffee, if you’re looking hard. Feels thin and watery. Not my favourite from Garrison.

pours slightly hazy, light coppery-orange with a small off-white head, little retention. fresh cereals, very fruity, oranges, pumpkin, spices - peppery and garbagy. light herbal-citrusy hops. average carbonation, light body - slightly lacking.

Yellow bodied with some retained head. Neutral aroma. Light mouthfeel, with above average carbonation. Fresh bottle from LCBO. Easy drinking, tastes a bit more bitter than its 16 IBU. Nice job to input flavour coinciding with lower abv.

Pours a transparent dark orange, lots of carbonation. Frothy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: Spicy, hoppy, herbs, grass, hay. Palate: Medium bodied, smooth, spicy biting finish. Taste: Slightly bitter. Overall subtly spicy. Not as overwhelming as other Märzen I’ve had.

500ml bottle. Slightly hazy orange-amber with a large-ish somewhat diminishing fizzy/fluffy off-white head. Odd aroma - light cereal, quite herbal, a hint of cocoa and cola, but a lingering metallic tang detracts some. The taste follows, less metal, decent bitter/toffee/cereal balance, mild alcohol ... perhaps a little thin and simple. Light body, strong carbonation, a little earthiness in the finish. The whole is greater than the parts - I quite enjoyed finishing this one.

500ml bottle from the LCBO. nice copper with a tan head. slightly sweet malt forward nose. decent malty flavour with some probably unintentional fermentation tang. not the best example of the style.

Bottle from LCBO. Pour a copper brown pour with small head. Aroma isn’t inviting. Cooked rotten veggies, caramel malts, some grain. Taste is a little better with lots of malts and cereal. Light palate with lively carbonation. Not that much of a bad beer for a style which flaws are easily perceptible but not very enjoyable.

Bottle. Nice deep amber colour with a ruby hue. Off white head. Biscuit and grains in the aroma. Some grass in there too. Light body. Sweet flavour with toffee and toasted malts, some brown pumpernickel bread with butter. Short, mildly sweet finish.

From bottle. A solid brew no doubt about it. Malty notes on the nose with sweet roasted malts, toast, nuttyness on the tongue. She wont break any hearts but a fine sessionable ale nonetheless. We need flavour packed more session ales in Canada...
