I had this beer on tap in Halifax. Nice amber colour with rich white head. The malt/hop balance was quite good. The hop aroma came through with a long bitter finish, warmed by the caramel maltiness and earthiness.

Pours a clear copper colour with a fast disappearing head that settles as a thin film and leaves no lace. The toasted caramel notes dominate the flavour and grassy hops come through on the finish. A bit of a earthy amber ale with some leafy green notes. a thin beer, kind of generic.

I’m going to give Tall Ship a bit more credit than the previous raters, although I might be working more off of nostalgic memories than they did. The beer pours amber with a rather thin off-white head. Aromas are mostly resiny, with caramel notes. Rather malty taste with a hoppy-bitter finish, somewhat one-dimensional but refreshing. Decent "everyday" amber.

A middle of the road type of beer. Better than the typical macro brews, but nothing special.

Really not a huge fan of this. Has light caramel taste with hints of toffee and raisins. I find it to be quite watery though, but then it is a little lighter on the ABV. I would recommend to people just getting off macros, but I can never really go back to it.

Dull maple-brown, clear, with a vast but very quickly disappearing bubbly white head, no lacing....very mild, faintly fruity-hoppy (apricot, bit of citrus) aroma, I think a bit oxidized as well...syrupy mouthfeel, somewhat sour and off, a bit vegetal, dry and woody towards the finish, no real hop presence and the malts are submerged in a brackish, murky wash

On tap in Halifax ... overall OK, but quite hoppy and dry for my taste of an amber. I would drink it again when it Halifax, but wouldn’t look for it anywhere else

Location: Draft at Maxwell’s Plum, 7/7/13

Aroma: The nose has caramel, some toffee, fruity notes, and a little earth
Appearance: It pours an amber color with a small white-to-off-white head and light lace
Flavor: The taste is similar to the nose, somewhat sweet and malty with light hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has an okay but not great mouthfeel, and mild dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was an alright, but ultimately underwhelming amber. It’s better than plenty of beers out there, but it is nothing too exciting.

Poured from a 341mL bottle. Clear, golden amber (more gold than amber) with some off-white head. Mild carmel malt aroma. Same mild taste, with feint hops, very light and a little watery.
