1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, USA - JUN 9, 2007
341 ml bottle from the Garrison variety 6-pack, purchased at Premier Wine and Spirits in Halifax, NS (May 2007) and sampled a little above fridge temperature from a Samuel Smiths pint glass. Dull maple-brown, clear, with a vast but very quickly disappearing bubbly white head, no lacing....very mild, faintly fruity-hoppy (apricot, bit of citrus) aroma, I think a bit oxidized as well...syrupy mouthfeel, somewhat sour and off, a bit vegetal, dry and woody towards the finish, no real hop presence and the malts are submerged in a brackish, murky wash....not really good at all.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 WheatKing (187) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 22, 2012
The lack of taste on my first sip was quite a shocker. Did taste some on its way down the gullet, but I didn’t warm to it much. Same Garrison taste, but this time with nothing to make it more interesting. Ice shavings.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ontbeermaker (1406) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 6, 2011
Bottle, this beer was surprisingly pale, it had bit of a hazy yellow apparance. The beer came off a little malty and it was a bit fruity. Overall it wasn’t bad but not what I was expecting for the style
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cole (925) - , Alberta, CANADA - APR 9, 2011

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1699) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 13, 2011
Clean amber in colour with a sticky off white cap that leaves ample messes. The aroma is uninspiring but non offensive. Soft sweet caramel, light citrus, more malts and that pretty much sums it up. The taste is pretty much one dimensional. Plain somewhat sweet malts, light spice and a touch of bitterness, mild fruit with a bit if tart. Boooooooring. It doesn’t taste bad - it just doesn’t have much taste. Still an ok beer though.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 cfrancis (1361) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 8, 2011
Ho hum beer, Pours a light amber with a quickly disappearing white head. Aroma is mostly caramel and malt. Taste is crisp, lightly malted. Unassuming, easy drinking.
