Commercial Description:
A full-bodied, robust copper colored beer with a maltier, more complex flavor than either the ordinary or best bitter. We make this with English Maris Otter, wheat & Caramel, German Munich and a touch of American Victory malts. It is hopped with German Magnum and English East Kent Goldings & Fuggles. The increased alcoholic strength should be evident.

on tap-pours a thin creamy white head and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-slight caramel. Taste is medium malt-slight caramel, balanced with hops bitterness. OK carbonation.

6.02.06 Not my fave ESB ever but pretty good nonetheless. Maybe the best beer on tap the other night at the brewpub. Malty and just the right kiss of hops. 2.8.07 Had this again at the BP. Very good again.

Low diacetyl mixed with appley-mild berry notes and toastiness. Mouthfeel too buttery, taste not fruity enough. Finish semi-dry yet coating.

Tap at the brewery. Orange/clear with a slight head. Fruity malty and watery. Not bad and easy drinking.
