2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 KyotoLefty (3760) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 14, 2009
Draught at the Craft Beer Festival in Ichinoseki, Iwate.
Medium gold color with a thick, fine, head. Rather faint, malt-centered aroma. Fruity, medium malt richness with ok citrus hops. Slightly metallic with a decent, peppery finish. Not great.

Very German in style. Light, refreshing with a slightly dry finish. Not overly memorable but a decent pint on a hot day.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TimE (2068) - Tokyo, JAPAN - NOV 13, 2005
Looks like pee with a quick disappaiting head and a sour crappy lemon nose. Light bodied, mainstream accented with some bready malt character. Surpriingly decent finish. Better than expected, but not special.

Bottle, thanks again Dan. Pee looking, average head. Grainy, thick. Lightly citric, some lemon, hops. Decent, maybe one of the best J-pilsners I’ve had.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 IslandHaole (1060) - Yokosuka-Shi, Kanagawa-Ken, JAPAN - SEP 7, 2005
Clear Golden with a big foamy White head. Nice grass/hay scent with spicy hops (Tettnang.?) Light, crisp quite refreshing. Mild and a touch thin but nicely balanced. Certainly a German style, a less bitter version of Bittberger. I wish Japanese macros would taste half as good as this!
