Clear amber colour. Thick, foamy, lasting head. malty, slightly caramelly aroma. Malty, slightly sweet taste. Caramelly, a bit roastmalty. Slightly bitter finish with a lasting maltiness. Decent, drinkable Alt.

Bottle December 2007: An old favorite that I discovered on a beer list while staying on the Mosel. I hadn’t seen ’hide nor hair’ of this beer for over ten years. I thought it was a fuller, more tasty beer, but my memory was obviously playing tricks, or they have changed the ingrediants somewhat. Looked good, the normal red/light brown colour with a tight thin head, just like an Alt should loo like. Slight aroma of fruits and hops, but not much. Malts and a fruitiness in equal amounts, but not very powerful or interesting, just a so-so Alt taste. Nothing to get excited about. I thought it a little thin, not watery but something was lacking. The flavours did linger but not for long. Not as I remember, but still an above average Alt and I’ll have another if our paths cross again.

500 ml bottle a amber colored beer with a white head aroma malts spicy caramel and hops flavor malts spicy caramel hops and citrus

Draught @ Dusseldorf. Pours ruby amber with a creamy head and lacings. Caramel, fruit, grain and vague metal. Medium bodied.

50 cl bottle. Poured copper with thin white head. Aroma has bread, cereals and some vegetable notes. Flavor is horrid, bready malt, vegetables, lots of alcohol and chocolate notes in finish. Drainpour.

Bottled. Light amber with a medium fuzzy off-white head. RoastedMalty aroma, falvor is the same as aroma, some light bitterness at end. Dry finish.

Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, malt and hops. Semi dry finish.

Bottle. Dark amber/brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit and a little bread. Flavour is malt, fruit, little bread, hops, little caramel, grainy, little sweet and a little bitter.

Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light yeasty. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 221111

Bottle. According to the label, this one is brewed by Konigsbacher, which is owned by Karlsberg in Koblenz, not Carlsberg. Dark clear amber color. thin tan head. Aroma and taste of caramel. Sweet and plain.

Im Geruch schwach röstig, malzig und ein wenig sauer. Geschmacklich malzig-herbe, einige Röstkaffee-Akzente. Deutliche Bitterkeit im Abgang. Solides Altbier aus dem geschmacklichen Mittelfeld. Trinkbar.Test vom 14.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche
