caesar (2453), Zeist, Netherlands Jun 26, 2008 Bottled, bought in Grobbendonk. Hazy copper color, medium bubbly head. Aroma of malt, brown sugar, molasses. High carbonation. Slight metallic taste, sweet, malty, licorice. Salty. MiP (4843), Flensburg, Germany Oct 7, 2007 Bottle. Malty aroma, brown sugar, slightly farty. Cloudy brown colour. Small stable light brown head. Sweetish flavour with a good sourness and hint of salt. Like a very mild Flemish sour. Slightly high carbonation. Good mouthfeel, creamy, when some of the excess CO2 is gone. Quite good and OK balanced. Miksu (1181), Jyväskylä, Finland Sep 2, 2007 0.33 l bottle. Hazy brown color with creamy head. Worty, tart, acidic, meaty, sweetish and candyish aroma. Sweetish, worty, candyish and meaty flavor with hints of licorice. Low bitterness. sayravai (3006), Helsinki, Finland May 1, 2007 (Bottled) Clear (muddy darkish brown with yeast), dark-reddish-amber with a medium, foamy-creamy and tanned, lacy head. Aroma of sweetish, grainy-caramely malt, orange-peel, and some licorice. Neutral-sweetish-malty flavor with dried fruit, vinegar in the background, some ashy yeastiness, and a stingy off-flavor (much like in my own homebrew a few years back). Yeast makes the flavor more fruity and smooth, while pronouncing the licoricey sweetness. Medium-bodied, soft-carbonated, slightly sugary palate. An ok dubbel, but nothing special, and not very clean. Jerre (1271), Waregem, Belgium Mar 31, 2007 Bottle 33 cl. A dark amber/redbrown, wtih beige head. Aroma malty, sweet. Medium bodied. Good balance sweetness / bitterness. Sweetness (brown sugar ?-).
