from 33cl stocky bottle. Appearance; new restyled label, fluid is dark brown, big foam. Aroma: warm alchool, candy sugar, toffee, yeast. Taste: similar to the aroma but more warm, alchool presence, spices from yeast. Palate: full. No sour notes, better than the old version.

Dense dark amber with lots of sediment, short-lived head, no lace. Strong, alcohol loaded dark malt with heavy spices, prunes, and maybe a dash of spearmint. Tastes a bit like malty mouthwash. Certainly has a big taste, but not high on the "yum" meter. looking over the reviews, it seems that this brew has many variations, the inconsistency perhaps depending on age.

33cl bottle. Brown with almost no head. Nose : driad raisins, chocolate, smoked wood, tart. Sip : medium body, oily texture, low carbonation. Tart sweetness with chemical, nail polish like flavor, cherry and dried fruits. Booze. Not my kind of beer.

A wonderfull rich beer. A wee bit too heavy for me, but a lovely lindering taste and aftertaste since it has been restyled! Gets my recomendation!

A lot of people seem to hate this beer but Its not that bad. Tastes to me like a low quality kind of old quad. Aroma is pennies, plums, leather, dirt. Taste is more fruity and metal that wont fade. Not awful.

Rotten aroma, sharp and tartish, going to have to let this open up. Low carbonation

Pours a near clear amber with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces thickly. Aroma has lots of light stone fruits with some sweet grains and a hint of metallic. Flavor has sweet grains up front with some sweet light fruit and a hint of berries.

33cl bottle @ the Diester Bierfestival on 20 Oct 2012, labelled as ’Den Twaalf.’ Dirty washing up water brown: scummy head, not a good start. Strange farmyard esters: fruity, yet with a grubby feel to the smell. Semi-sour moving towards vinegarous in the taste and mouth feel: did I try a bottle with a yeast infection? No according to a couple on my table it had been the same when they’d had it elsewhere and many months before. Tried to enjoy it, but failed. A long way from being a good quadrupel on the evidence I had in my glass: the wife didn’t like her portion either!
