3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 yespr (22205) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 25, 2007
33 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours hazzlenut brown, golden and clear with a lacing white head. Spiced aroma. Flavour has a mild caramel malt base with little sweetness. On top is a herbal towards spiced mix. Lingering cloves and ginger notes in the flavour. Finish is mildly spiced. Strange, the waitor gave me this and told me this is the most difficult beer, but it holds nothing against some of the Danish heavy spiced X-max beers. Nice though.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 thebeertourist (4060) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 18, 2007
From bottle at 13e Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Cloudy, ruddy brown with a warm white-coloured head. Spices galore-supposedly from 30 different spices-coming out peppery. sweet flavours with spices overdose. A bit flat. Overspiced, yes. Too sweet, probably. But still it works as a Christmas treat.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 18, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2010 (Bottled, BBE 05/2012, moderate gusher) Quite clear, deep amber with floating particles and a small, firm head. Aroma of caramely malt and cinnamony Xmas spices. Flavor of caramel, slightly sour malt, some dried fruit, touch of spices. Medium body, slightly fizzy carbonation. Cleaner than last time around. Easy, but still not interesting.
(Bottled@Kerstbierfestival 2007, Essen, was 6-3-6-3-12=3.0) Dark amber with a small, partly lasting head. Toffee in the aroma with diacetyl hints. Grainy toffee maltiness and some glue in the flavor, but not much else. Medium-bodied, medium-carbonated palate. Not very clean or interesting.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 30, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 12, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Gaverhopke’s christmas-beer is quite dark with a slightly red tone. A bit hazy with a light brownish head. Has the Gaverhopke sour character, which is here suppressed by all the Christmas spices. I think it’s cardamom, that I sense. Which is quite unusual. Could bring reminders of the Swedish "Jule Mumma" (shiver....) 140804

Bottle conditioned, at Essen Kerstbierfestival 2004. Hazy brown, no head and low condition. Low spicy nose with hints of cinnamon, cloves and some citrus. Sweet and soft in the mouth with more christmas spices apparent. Short and gentle sweetness in the finish.
