Kriek beer that itsn’t overly sweet, but tastes like real cherries. That means it’s sweet in a fruity way, with a slight tardiness. Nice one.

Bottle from the brewery ( thnx Bruno ! ) Pours rather clear , red/orange Small white foam . Unintense sweet cherry smell ( no pure sugar though ) Taste is thin, cherry ( a bit ) very dry , chewy background of bubblegum-maltyness . Metallic , weak , and not really good either

Countbeer (4423) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 22, 2014
Bottle: Past BB: Served in a Chouffe glass: Quick disappearing bubbles. Leaves a headless clear bronze to ruby orange colored beer. Aromas of cinnamon, cherries, some wood and a sprinkle of chalk. Strong cinnamon an cherry tones. Flavours of cherries, malts, cinnamon, bitters, some malts, light caramel and some sweet herbs with toast. Aftertaste is bitter, cherries, hebs, malts and yeast. Low to no carbo, oily mouthfeel, medium bodied and an oily creamy texture. Strange, flat, not interesting but it’s somewhat easy drinkable...

ClubGonzo (4020) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 19, 2013
Bottle from bieresgourmet.be webshop. Deep slightly hazy orange-hued pink body with a small light pink-ish white head. Nose is faint traces of tart cherries and not much else. Taste is watery, faint cherry notes and loads of cellar moldy tones. Seems off. Palate is watery with moderate carbonation. Bad stuff, will re-rate on occasion if I find a good bottle.

Scopey (6812) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2013
Bottle at Bierboom, Brugge. It pours rose with a small-medium white head. The nose is smooth, candy cane, strawberry ice cream and cherry. The taste is easy going, dull fruitiness, mild cherry, strawberry and ice-cream with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not essentially bad, there just isn’t really that much to it.

+/- 10 yr. old 33 cl. Bottle with no lable and covered in dust @ Kulminator. This was still brewed by the former brewer and not the new one. Reddish, Bordeaux, cranberry, light purple, some difficulties nailing the colour of this one, head disappears faster than I have ever seen, like the head on coca-cola or something. Smell is agreeable, smells a bit like a sweetened kriek, some dust, light sweet syrup and touch mustiness, ok so far. Taste on the other hand is hard to call enjoyable, rotting cellar, filth, dust, musty, rotting, highly fermenting kriek, rotting cherry pits, garbagejuice, rotting leaves,… Flat or close to. I have previously called Gaverhopke the worst brewery in Belgium, this does little to change my opinion of them. This may be the age or a potential sign that even under the previous brewer they used to be not too good. It can be said that this was probably not meant to be aged.

Bottle. Pours a hazy reddish color with a small white head. Has a fruity cherry aroma. Sweetish fruity cherry flavor. Has a sweetish malty fruity cherry finish.

A- Bubbly head like the foam you see at the ocean. The head dissipates pretty quickly to a nice lacing. Hazy orange with a red hue, the color reminded me of a Tequila Sunrise (the drink). S- Sour lactic cherry and a whiff of booze, Smells very nice and just how I’d have expected. T- There is a quick sharp bitter kick up front that I was not expecting but enjoyed especially as it mellowed out quickly. Sweet and Sour cherry, hay, hops, a bit of metal, and a mouthful of nutty cherry pit at the end which I really enjoyed. Aftertaste is clean, slightly sweet, nutty, and dry. M&D- Effervescent and smooth, cleansed the palette and easy to drink. Felt very light on the tongue and in the mouth.
