omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 6, 2004 Bottled. Cherry red. Bigaroon aroma. Medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Juicy flavour of bigaroon (not at all the typical cherry flavour you’ll find in most Belgian kriekbiers), some lighl acidity and some sweetness. Unlike the other beers I had from t’Gaverhopke it doesn’t really take off.
sayravai (3181), Helsinki, Finland Sep 29, 2008 (Bottled) Clear red-amber with a small, fading head. Very faint, neutral cherry aroma. Somewhat acidic, mildly sour and slightly sugary flavor with berry fruitiness and some candyish cherry hints and some bitterness. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Slightly more tolerable with yeast, but very disappointing overall. bierkoning (4917), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 1, 2008 Bottle. Pinkish red, cloudy. Cherry, marzipan and almond in the aroma. Sweetish, perfumed flavor with cherry and marzipan. Just a touch of yeast. Decent, fairly well made beer. plovmand (672), Helsinge, Denmark Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Poured murky reddish orange with a medium lasting head. Sour and fruity aroma. Bit artificial. Flavour is medium sour with fruity notes mostly cherry but its not that dominating. Too bitter aftertaste that reminds me of vomit. Mes_and_Sim (4465), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 24, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at GBBF. Cloudy amber brown with a thin bubbly rim. it looks nothing like a kriek in all honesty. Brown sauce and soy aroma with hardly any cherries. The flavour is really not too good at all. Slight fruit but they do not seem to be cherries. Strange and rather unpleasant oxidisation and sourness. I’ve had better beers from ’t Gaverhopke. daniele (822), Italy Aug 22, 2008 rossa schiuma media non molto persistente note fruttat ciliegia leggermente acidule in bocca un po aspra un tocco di ciliegia
