3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Braudog (4607) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Draft at the Birch. This starts with a beautiful visual, like pure honey-colored amber, bright and clear, with a frothy head of foam. It drinks with an airy character, creamy almost. For a beer of almost 8% it carries itself quite lightly, no offendingly heavy edges whatsoever. Good stuff. (#4600, 5/16/2012)

Clear pale golden amber or hazy depending on which pour you get... Lacing and head... Belgian flavor kinda has an earthy taste... Medium bodied some fruit notes but the earthy notes dominate... Odd

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy murky opaque orange color with a big white head on top. Smell malts, hops, slightly sweet. Taste malts, hops, slightly grapefruit, tangerine, bitter. Soft carbonation, medium body. Decent, but lacks intensity imo.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Guerde (992) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - MAR 21, 2012
(bottle from bhensonb, thanks Bill!) Pours a semi-clear light gold pour with a medium sized white head that retains well and yields some lacing. Aroma is quite potent and full of citrus, with some orange, tangerine, and canned lychees. There’s a sourness in the aroma which smells like rotted fruit (grapefruit or tangerine) with odd peaks of vegetal scents accompanying this. Further contemplation makes me think this smells similar to expired ruby red grapefruit juice left in the sun. It’s actually not wholly offensive, but it’s really bizarre. Flavor doesn’t come across so strangely, with a solid amount of tropical sweetness (juicy tangelo mainly), accompanied by some citrusy bitterness on the finish and booze heat. Lime juice detected here too, as a twang of tartness is perceived. The flavor is definitely better than the aroma. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is lively. Overall this is an odd beer, and it would be pretty solid if the aroma was improved.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 porterhouse (1544) - Alna, Maine, USA - MAR 13, 2012
(330 ml (marked 12/13, lot A) from Oak Street Provisions) Cloudy apricot with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruity with some pine and caramel. Mouthfeel is light, a bit airy, very slight pebbliness. Flavor is sweet, fruity, a bit of pine, really a little non-descript. ABV well-hidden. Not much hop action for a big IPA.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 omhper (15964) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 13, 2012
Bottled at Pressklubben, Stockholm. Clear deep golden with rich dense head. Overt citric tangerine aroma with yeast induced spruce needles shining through. Sweet and fruity, medium-full body with soft mouthfeel. Spun sugar and tangerine, citric and aromatic. Restrained bitterness. More sweet and citric than bitter sweet.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 oteyj (1896) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 28, 2012
Clear amber pour with a smallish white head. Herbal spicy citrus hop character gives way to resinous bitterness and a hint of poopy earthiness. Medium body with a resinous finish.
