Whole Foods, Bowery 330ml ($5): Pours an orange colour with a white head that leaves a full lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, loads of it, candy, and some hops. This is way more Belgian ale than DIPA; however, the hops are nice and provide a nice aftertaste. It has a nice little flowery sweetness. Body is light and easy to drink.

Treated as a Belgian IPA, this was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a burnt hazy orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated pretty quickly. The smell has some sweet grassiness over some sweet Belgian sugars. Nice sour edge underneath, super underneath. Some mellow woodiness. The taste had a semi-sticky stick edge of the grassiness to the Belgian sugars. Semi-mellow and leading on into the aftertaste with a wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light with some sweet grassy to Belgian sweet to sugary-feels hitting my tongue in a somewhat sticky sort of way. Overall, for a Belgian IPA, I see nothing wrong with it. But its really not hype-worthy. Its just good for what it is. I could do it again if I necessary.

12 ounce bottle. A big off white head that lasts. Lots of carbonation using in this honey golden clear beer. On the last pour sediment caused cloudiness. A sweeter aroma of tangerine and caramel. First sip brings some surprising alcohol. ABV isn’t all that high by the listing. It is kind of all over the place but not really anywhere. I do taste yeast and syrupy fruit that includes stone fruit. Moderate bitterness is dry citrus. This is likely not a fresh bottle as some oxidation is noted. Perhaps this is an example of why I am over the collaboration craze. I love it when a brewer has a dream and perfects it. Too many cooks in the kitchen can bring unfortunate results.

Bottle. Pours in copper body with medium white head, fair persistence. Aroma has caramel notes, light pine, hints of earthy hops. Taste has pretty high caramel, yeasty notes, earthy after taste with high bitterness. Body is full, really high carbonation.

Bottle from Deconinck, Vichte - BE. Color: hazy dark golden blond beer with no carbonation and small white foam. Smell: sweet malt and hops. Yeast notes. Alcohol. Resin. Taste: medium palate with hoppy and high malt alcohol taste. High resin and alcohol taste. Bad balance. Not really drinkable. It seems to be barrel aged... Astringent from alcohol. Taste: alcohol taste. Astringent from alcohol. Resin. Very bad experience...

Troebel oranjekleurig bier. Fruitig aroma van sinas, perzik, mango. Fruitige, licht zoete smaak zelfs. Slechts een hele slappe, zeer licht bittere, afdronk. Het is een lekker bier maar ZEKER geen double ipa zoals het etiket vermeld. Had hier meer van verwacht..

bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Aroma of malt and light hops. Bright cloudy medium amber color, sudsy white head that has volume issues, splotches of lace. Taste is malt that gives way to strong European hops, moving through a swallow that adds biscuit and light citrus. The finish begins with hop domination, but slowly and surely the malt re-activates. giving the end a nice balance. Pretty good stuff.

33 cl fles blind geproefd met een vriend. Amberkleurig bier met dunne witte schuimkraag. Geur: Onaangenaam, kazig, zurig – zoetig. En daaronder staat vermeld : Double IPA, … jongens, jongens, NO WAY! Als het zo was, dan reste er toch nog iets van bitterheid!

Cloudy amber body, creamy white head. Heavy aroma on amber malts, cookies, oatmeal, overripe peaches, grapefruit. Quite heavy carbonation, that could be improved upon. I love the start, ending is a bit dimmed. (33cl bottle from Dranken Pauwels)

Bottle. Hazy light brown with foamy white head and floaters. Smells a little off, sweet and astringent. Flavor isn’t great either. Might be old.
