Gavroche was a generous and rebellious Paris urchin and a character in the Victor Hugo (1802-1885) novel “Les Misérables.” It is also a strong, amber beer, where the flavour of its top-fermentation yeast combines perfectly with the taste of the special malts. Fermented again in the bottle, the Gavroche beer should be served with care between 10 and 12°C.

Finale lievemente amaro e secco. Ben carbonata e molto piacevole da bere. Positivamente sorpreso, birra molto buona.

This is a Biere de Garde, and it has beautiful creamy foam in a light amber and clear ale. Good fruit aromas rise from the glass and in its aroma you will also find the typical aroma of wheat malt and fresh grain. The taste has soft light butterscotch to begin with and it has an almost creamy fullness in the mouth, where it gently delivers little peach and citrus flavors that blends in well with its malt sweetness. Hop bitterness is continuous and forms a perfect setting for a very tasty and full-bodied ale.

Bottle; pours a clear copper with a large white head; aroma is caramel with yeast and malt; taste is caramel with malt and yeast; light bitter finish; I haven’t had too many of this style but I thought this one was pretty good

Pours copper colour with finely conditioned head. Sweet with strawberry and sour fruit that quickly becomes very dry. Warming after from the ABV. Just not enough complexity to justify the one bottles your limit ABV.

Vermelha escura, límpida. Espuma abundante e duradoura. Aroma de ameixas e uvas. Sabor equilibrado de ameixas, bem frutada. Álcool perceptível. Retrogosto de longa duração com final levemente amargo e salgado.

Bottle from carrefour@calais, France. Copper beer with large foam head. Aroma of strawberries, caramel and malts. Taste is yeast, malts, hint of strawberry and dry fruit. There is a little alcohol kick in the finish. Very good, a beer to appreciate rather than enjoy.

750 ml bottle purchased at Cigarette City, Seabrook for a price of $9.99. Amber type color thin lasting head. Aroma is light earthy spice, mild herbs and a different yeast Syrian I don’t remotely recognize.

The flavor has a balance of sweet malts and a herbal earthy character that leads to a dry finish. This could be a slightly better if fresh. Of course without any type of best before or bottle date it’s hard to know if this could be better or not. It’s French so likely this is as good as it gets.

Amber coloured. Toffee on the nose. Strong & sweet with a big caramel taste with some fruits. A little too malt heavy. Rated by BrewTom
