COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
Gavroche was a generous and rebellious Paris urchin and a character in the Victor Hugo (1802-1885) novel “Les Misérables.” It is also a strong, amber beer, where the flavour of its top-fermentation yeast combines perfectly with the taste of the special malts. Fermented again in the bottle, the Gavroche beer should be served with care between 10 and 12°C.

Bottle to tulip Orange, caramel, molasses, grape, and over ripe fruit. It’s a dark, thick/cloudy amber with moderate carbonation and a long lasting 1 cm light tan head with decent lacing. Taste is malt, caramel, yeast, and loads of dark fruit.

Nice golden colour with white head that stays. The aroma had some hints of belgian but not overwhelming. The taste is rather fresh and even a bit citric. Quite a good beer overall.

Hazy amber with a big frothy brown head. Good head retention and some thin lacing. Aroma of malt, alcohol, caramel and some hints of apple. Taste of chocolate, caramel, fruit, sourness and some dark fruits. Fairly dry, very warming. Light carbonation. A wonderful beer.

An interesting beer that combines the taste of a strong Belgian ale with a lighter than expected body.

A very decent Belgian style French ale, rich, malty, robust. I don’t have the vocab as per most of the beer wankers on this website who write relentless non-descript, pompous, self-righteous drivel.... This beer is quality.... Drink it.

En botella. Color ambar oscuro, levemente turbia. Gran corona de espuma blanca, densa y persitente. Deja buena guirnalda en la copa. Aroma complejo, malta rica, algo de corteza de pan, poco caramelo, alguna nota de miel. Toques de frutas maduras, ciruelas pasas.Final largo maltoso y frutal, poco amargor. Cuerpo medio-lleno, carbonatación media, leve tibieza del alcohol. Cerveza rica, compleja y redonda, apetece repetir aunque la graduación alcohólica lo desaconseje

Bottle. 11/12/14. Pours translucent amber with a fluffy, fast-fading off-white head. Aroma is very fruity, dark berries, cherries, some grapes, earth, farmyard, salt, leather. Taste is fruity, berries, leather, vanilla, earthy, bubblegum, fruit esther qualities reminiscent of Belgian yeast strains; finish is fruit and earthy with an unfortunate hint of oxidation. Lacing is full and dense throughout. Medium carbonation with small but active bubbles. Mouth feel is medium-full bodied, a bit oily. Tasty.

Rich ruby tinted brown coloured body with a small, half centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, light apples, earth, sour grapes, caramel, toffee and a hint of peaches - nice, complex and all over the place. Medium-bodied; Assertive alcohol and pungent medicinal flavours at first with a large bitterness from alcohol and earth, some light sweet notes at the end, but are relatively subdued, and a hint of fruits. Aftertaste shows mostly bitterness and medicinal/pungent flavours with alcohol, permanent marker and dry oak the strongest tastes. Overall, an interesting beer - this one smells a lot different than it taste, but unfortunately it only gets worse with time spent with this. Not really worth trying and not really a biere de garde. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from the Phoenicia Market in Houston, Texas on 10-August-2013 for US$3.49 sampled at home in Washington on 02-March-2014.

33cl bottle. BB 11.06.16. Poured copper color with a huge, frothy, lacing white head. Sweet, honey-like aroma, yeast and some malt and dark fruits. Mellow, pleasant. Flavor is sweetish, malt, caramel, some warming alcohol towards finish, along with some hoppy notes. mild bready notes in the long finish along with sweet fruits. Tasty.
