3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pootzboy (1284) - Hawgville, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2007
Bottle:
Hazed copper-amber ale with a great cap that laces.
Aromas are malty, sweet, yeasty...wisp of alcohol.
Sweet caramel maltiness, some wood, smoke, tobacco, earthy dried fruit tones...nice subtle complexity...finishes wet and with a lash of licorice from the alcohol.
Nice little strong ale for a French brewer.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2008 11.2oz bottle: pours a hazy chestnut brown with a HUGE HEAD. aroma was almost not even there maybe a hint of hops and alcohol. flavor has a taste of alcohol with an added nut taste. overall i wouldnt buy again but wouldnt turn it down if offered would rate higher if i couldnt taste the alcohol so much. but its no so strong that it should keep you from trying this beer.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Dezzilu (226) - Whitmore Lake, Michigan, USA - NOV 14, 2007
pale golden color, with a very one dimensional aroma - just hops. The head was huge in the glass and lingered almost until the last swig. The taste was a bit thin, but it did wash done clean with a very little aftertaste. All in all, the best I can say is that it is a very average drinkable beer. At worst, I can say it is ’very French’. C’est la vie.

Sensual beer. Commercial description fits it to a T. Complex, good head and lace. Very slightly hazy amber. Mouth filling good body. Lots of malt. Long finish. Good beer. Had this at Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse, WI.

Bottle. [ Thanks to oh6gdx ] Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, molasses, bread, roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (271007)

Mmmm big yeast aroma and a slight funky bitter flavor. My bottle says it’s a French Red Ale and red it is. The color is a deep red almost brown. The head is big, off white, and slow to dissipate. First impression is a crisp, clean, sour drink. The pungent experience stays with you for a while. The malt balances it out a bit and increases as the beer warms. There are some red fruits in there as well.
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Packman (6) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 3, 2007 does not count
Really awsome beer. I would say a pure taste beer. No food, no exageration, just degustation. I really liked that one. Fall beer (as in the season not the action lol)

its quite good. The Alcohol actually hits you hard at first, caramel and slight cereal makes this good. the malts is nice and hops are little in presence. The rest of the beer is a pleasant expirence.
