COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
Gavroche was a generous and rebellious Paris urchin and a character in the Victor Hugo (1802-1885) novel “Les Misérables.” It is also a strong, amber beer, where the flavour of its top-fermentation yeast combines perfectly with the taste of the special malts. Fermented again in the bottle, the Gavroche beer should be served with care between 10 and 12°C.

Amber coloured and hazy. Has a white head, lasting. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, pepper, notes of dark bread. Sweet flavor, a texture of laqurice, faint acid, moderate bitter finish. Creamy and dry texture. Lively carbonation.

clear amber with a big off white head. Sweet fruit and yeast aroma which is surprising with the dry, somewhat bitter flavor. Just a hint of alcohol too.

Bottle. Pours a gorgeous copper with a big fluffy white head. Aroma has rust, lots of yeast characteristics, ester, lemon zest, pretty rural with the farmhouse yeast. Taste is quite malty, caramel, hayish, rural and a lot of yeast characteristics, esters, lime. Pretty decent.

Poured a very hazy brown color with a large off-white head. Very nice aroma with lots of caramel and light fruit. Lots of yeast notes as well. Some raisins. Body is a bit overcarbonated, and slightly watery. Some caramel and raisins. Alcohol is well hidden. Finish is slightly slick with some yeast flavors. Overall ok, but not the most flavorful.

Basically quite tasty, but completely unsurprising. (This beer rating was imported from FB and unfortunately lacks any further comments.)

33 cl bottle, BBE 10.12.11. Rated on 05.02.2011
Started coming out of the bottle very aggressively on my friend’s kitchen table. Aroma has aged fruits, raisins and hints of brown sugar and spices. Flavour has raisins and aged fruits too, and actually this feels a bit like aged barley wine or belgian strong ale. Suprisingly good Bière even though this is definitely not my favourite style.
