COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
Gavroche was a generous and rebellious Paris urchin and a character in the Victor Hugo (1802-1885) novel “Les Misérables.” It is also a strong, amber beer, where the flavour of its top-fermentation yeast combines perfectly with the taste of the special malts. Fermented again in the bottle, the Gavroche beer should be served with care between 10 and 12°C.

Bottle at the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Tulip. Pours a reddish amber with medium lasting head. Aroma of spices, anise, and bread. The taste is malty sweetness with a dry finish to it. The flavor is a little dark fruity with spices. Medium to full body with sweet finish.

Pours brown with a thick whitish head. Smells of malt and fruit, mainly strawberries. Tastes of caramelized fruit and the alcohol is hidden. It’s ok.

Clean red pour, frothy self sustaining head. Nose is floral, licorice, dark fruit. Sweet. Middle is sweet roasted malt, cocoa, and cherries. Finsh is malt and spice. Warmer draws the flavors out. Get some pliers to get the top off...I am serious.

330ml bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. Yeasty, grassy and subtle tart aromas. pours amber-golden, a bit hazy, with frothy white head, persistent, poor lacing. Medium body, average to high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is yeasty, fruity, some tart notes. Weel balanced, alcohol not noticeable. Dry aftertaste.

Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks solid; a transparent orange with off-white head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells of sweet malt and Belgian yeast with some caramel too. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a nice, lively mouthfeel. Not too shabby.

Great french ale, amber and warm but without any note or taste of alcohol. I can’t point out what malts are used here, but my guess is plenty and many. Complex brew that feels very much down to earth, and you’d never guess the Alc.%

Bottle shared at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Cloudy brown with a creamy head and floaties. Sweet, spoiled cheesecake aroma, tastes unpleasingly sour and lemony - bloody wrong! Sour finish, medium body and disgusting. Old bottle, probably bad storage.

33cl bottle from Liberty, served in a chalice. Pours a cloudy orange-red with a tiny beige head. Aroma: Yeast, malt, grapes, leaves, hints of lemon. Palate: Thick bodied, fizzy, foamy, long finish. Taste: sweet start, quickly turns bitter. Small hint of a spicy burnt feeling in the finish. It’s okay.

Was fairly disappointed with this. But probably, only because I was told it was a flemish red, which, while similar, is certainly not a flemish red. Poured a semi-clear amber with fair near white head. Slightly fruity and just a small twinge of tartness. Not all that enjoyable.
