3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 kopher (530) - New York, USA - JUN 23, 2011
aroma is bright with yeast, citrus, and grain. slightly cloying and somewhat lager-y, but also lots of apples.
pours an almost clear light amber with thick fluffy beige head.
flavor is fruity and sweet but not overly so, with an apple-y crispness.
medium body, quite dry but fluffy with carbonation, nice sweet finish. this is quite good, and doesn’t have too much of the characteristic french sweetness.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 islay (622) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 13, 2011
11.2 oz. bottle, labeled as “Gavroche French Red Ale.” Strong aroma features, red apple, sour/rotting apple, rhubarb pie, candy sugar, apple juice, and caramel scents. Pours a cloudy, effervescent amber to dull copper. Much small, suspended particulate. Huge amount of thick, uneven, frothy, taupe/peach/light tan head. Produces good lacing. The taste is sweet in a lightly floral sort of way. Caramel flavor. Tastes a bit artificial. Numbing, chalky, dry finish. None of the funky, sour complexity that is in the interesting but flawed aroma, for better or for worse. Light to medium body. Soft, silky, and frothy in the palate. Little of the liveliness that the large amount of head suggested it would. The palate improves upon multiple sips. Not disgusting, but also not all that good.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 HenrikSoegaard (7230) - Randers, DENMARK - MAY 22, 2011
Bottle from Skjold Burne Randers. Frothy off-white good mostly lasting head. Light amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy spicey aroma. Cinnamon notes. Moderate bitter spicey flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Lacks fruity notes. Oily palate. A little boring.

Flöska. Nice clear golden amber brown colour, huge beige head, fairly well lasting. Aroma of toasted caramel and malt, bit fruit, bit sweetness, light spice. Ok mouthfeel, bit thin. Toasted caramel and malt in the flavour, alco sweet, quite some alcohol noticed in the finish along with a bit fruit. Mild bitterness. Too much alcohol in aroma and flavour
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chrisv10 (4031) - DENMARK - MAY 14, 2011

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Strykzone (2904) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 10, 2011
12 oz. bottle. Foam dominates the pour. It is light tan in color and fades oh so slowly. The beer is the color of tea and some yeast is noticed. The aroma is complex malt. Raisin and figs are prominent. The flavor follows that nicely. Alcohol is also tasted as is molasses and caramel. Hops aren’t tasted at all. As the beer warms this begins to lean toward Irish Red flavors and there is also a bourbon aspect. Interesting. This is a malt bomb and is sweet and pleasing.
