COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
Gavroche was a generous and rebellious Paris urchin and a character in the Victor Hugo (1802-1885) novel “Les Misérables.” It is also a strong, amber beer, where the flavour of its top-fermentation yeast combines perfectly with the taste of the special malts. Fermented again in the bottle, the Gavroche beer should be served with care between 10 and 12°C.

bhensonb (13733) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 26, 2007
Aroma of stone fruit and yeast, almost berry or cherry. Deep reddish amber color with a beige head that was vigorous and laced a minim. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, something of a tart cherry flavor. The malt is something yeasty or musty or earthy, and the finish is kind of balanced between the malt flavors and some fruit bitter, like sucking on seeds or pits. This real ale needs to be slowly sipped. Fantastically rewarding.

Bottle. Poured clear copper with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate tart citrus spice aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft caebonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Deep reddy orange, lightly hazy, large frothy head. Initially fruity aroma, turns nutty amd hoppy quite soon. Carbonation is a little harsh, lively in the mouth. Taste is a little alcoholic, and has several savoury components, and a touch of burntness to the malts. However, the overriding direction is a tingly bitterness. Big biting finish. As you dink it, the harshness subsides and it ends up being very tasty indeed. And the finish remains long.

330mL bottle, pours a cloudy amber with a huge beige head. Sweet aroma of dark fruits, caramel malt and yeast. Flavour follows suit, with a lingering sourness, dryness and yeasty taste. Nice beer.

Bottle from Skjold Burne Randers. Frothy off-white good mostly lasting head. Light amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy spicey aroma. Cinnamon notes. Moderate bitter spicey flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Lacks fruity notes. Oily palate. A little boring.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear amber with a lasting light amber head. Aromas of carmel and light fruittiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of light carmel and light fruittiness with a crisp lightly fruity finish. Nothing special here, definitly not worth the $10!
