COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
Gavroche was a generous and rebellious Paris urchin and a character in the Victor Hugo (1802-1885) novel “Les Misérables.” It is also a strong, amber beer, where the flavour of its top-fermentation yeast combines perfectly with the taste of the special malts. Fermented again in the bottle, the Gavroche beer should be served with care between 10 and 12°C.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2008 11.2oz bottle: pours a hazy chestnut brown with a HUGE HEAD. aroma was almost not even there maybe a hint of hops and alcohol. flavor has a taste of alcohol with an added nut taste. overall i wouldnt buy again but wouldnt turn it down if offered would rate higher if i couldnt taste the alcohol so much. but its no so strong that it should keep you from trying this beer.

MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - FEB 7, 2008
Bottle (330ml). Another exploder. Poured a dark/deep amber red with a large tanned off-white head which was average lasting. Aroma was of toffee, malts orange peel, golden syrup, alcohol and some prunes. Alcohol content was present on this one (which was to my liking) with some toffee and malts to back it up as swell as dried apricots and other mixed dried fruits, warming finish. Full bodied with lively carbonation, slight watery texture yet a syrupy mouthfeel and a good finish.

Jado (533) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - MAY 15, 2013
330 ml bottle. Pours a clear bronze with a fluffy beige head that sticks around and leaves good lacing. Lively carbonation. Aromas of peach, caramel, stewed apple and cinnamon. The taste starts out with some deep fruit before a hit of hop bitterness in the mid-palate. That slips away leaving some caramel sweetness. Finishes quite cleanly with some citrus and spice in the aftertaste. Excellent.

White large and strong head. Dark amber color. Aroma is fruity with spicy, walnut and light alcohol notes. Flavor is fruity too, with raisins, apricots and light caramel tones, ending in a moderately sweet, fruity finish. Medium to full bodied.

bottle pours hazy amber with full beige head . aroma is caramel , dark fruit and yeast . fully carbonated with rich mouthfeel . taste is heavy sweet to start like the aroma but then a pleasant light sour bitterness emerges that cleanses the palate to leave a juicy refreshing aftertaste . Quite enjoyable

Cloudy brick red pour with a thick, lasting off white head. Malty, caramel aroma. Sweet, with a nice caramel/toffee flavour, finishes with very low bitterness, alcohol warmth.

Great amber color not like most biere de Garde. Light but strong. Honey sweet but the alchol hangs out a bit to much.
