lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium Oct 4, 2005 Cristal clear gloden blond beer with orange shine and with airy white head. Aroma is sweet (alcohol-sweet) honeyed and has hints of the sirup from peaches in canns. it it is slight spicey (white pepper) and has a volatile touch of gluw. taste is sweet and totally out of balance. The alcohol is to powerfull, the sweet accents are to midicinaly and there is no freshness to bring the beer back on track. Afthertaste is like a cheap cake soaked in the cheapest possible alcohol. In the finish there is a varnish like taste that lingers on . I think i need a glass of water to rinse my pallet. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Oct 3, 2005 A Mes rate:
Well all I can say is that given that this is readily available in Italy it must be the beer of choice for Italians wanting to get slaughtered. Of all the 12% beers I have tried, this one hides the alcohol remarkably well. The only thing that gives it away is the thickish palate and the expected warming in the finish. In fact its the finish that saves this one. The initial flavour is pretty awful and way too sweet and oily to be honest but once swallowed it gives way to what is the most chunky finish I can think of and full of malt and hard licquor. Pretty nasty at first but it gets better. Right now I can not think of a longer finish either. Aroma reminds me more of a licquor, being a heady mix of orange and alcohol. It is reasonable enough if a little on the soapy side. Appearance wise it looks almost like a pils in the body but the syrupy texture and spotty lace give hints that there is something more going on. Ah well it’s not all bad. I have found enough to say about it and it has got me tipsy... Keeper (164), Milano, Italy Aug 27, 2005 The blond beer more Strong in the world, they say.
Truth: alcohol outbreak, no much more. TBone (6678), Pori, Finland Jul 27, 2005 Bottled 330ml
Golden color, small white head. Not very strong nose: malts, cardboard and wet paper. Hard metallic mouthfeel. Malty, iron flavor and light honey sweetness. Thin palate. French malt liquer. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 5, 2005 Bottle thanx to Ungstrup. Yellow colour with a dissapering white head. Sweet malty light alcoholic aroma and a sweet malty light hoppy alcoholic taste. Medium body and a alcoholic finish. To much alcohol. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Jun 23, 2005 Bottle. BB 08.09.02. Pale gold colour with slim white head. Aroma is alcohol and malt. Taste is better than I was expecting looking at this beer’s average score. But it does sort of taste like an average european lager with a vodka thrown in. Still, there’s a time and a place.... bmxutos (161), Lisboa, Portugal Jun 14, 2005 Bottle, 33cl. "La biere blonde la plus forte du monde"! Not quite true: last week i saw a new one that claims to have 13º... A little dangerous this one. Not unpleasant but also nothing special. The alcohol covers all other flavours. If you are looking for a strong beer, you’re rather try Bush or something similar. Just ok. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Jun 6, 2005 Updated: Jun 14, 2005Bottle in a really weird French bar. This costed 8 Euros. The next most expensive beer on the menu was Chimay at 5, so I was optimistic. It was one of the worst beers I have ever had. I couldn’t even finish it and it made me mad for the rest of the night. Alcohol is extremely noticeable and even then it’s a pissy skunked lager. Can’t find this one in America? Take a Coors light and throw some vodka in it and this is it.
