Piwo troche mnie zawiodla.

750 c&c from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light amber with a white head. Aroma is fresh. Like fresh plant material - in a good way. Maybe itís a little towards vinous. Med body or so. Flavor is light roasty malt, but thereís something plant like. Reminds of purple grape, or myrtile. Itís not really dry, but itís dry enough. Very pleasant. Perhaps a spicy fruites de bois sort of thing. Iím liking it.

bottle, donated by jaghana - merci! Deep golden-amber colour, creamy off-white head. Malty nose with spices and honey. Full-bodied start, malty with caramel, nuts and dried fruit, plus some citrusy hops and also spices. Smooth and velvety palate. A delight!

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2014 This is exactly what came to mind when I thought of a spiced Biere de Garde. The strong malt profile is accented with a slight mustiness and a tinge of spice that comes from both the yeast and noted spice blend. It finishes with a fruity caramel sweetness that tends to linger. Overall itís an enjoyable holiday beer that really works within the stated style.

Bottle @tasting. Pours amber, a simple beer, some malty caramel sweetness, some spices and thatís it. Not much if any fruit, not complex, easy to drink but nothing to bring you back.

Rich golden with a decent white head. Muddle of spice and yeast nose, light enough not to be offputting. Cloying caramel, wee bit of fruit and a odd very light warming roasted but baulked by a pinching yeast vibe.
