750 ml, bb 01-03-13. Clear, shiny orange-copper with a lasting film of foam. Aromas of sweet apple, pear, brown sugar, a metallic twang, and dirty orange. Smells like an English Pale yeast in here!? Front taste is similar but develops some tartness, resin, citrus and a woodsy-bitter finish that improves the overall concept a bit. Light-medium body has frothy carbonation, is pretty balanced and really an easy drinker for all the apparent malt and lack of hops. Interesting, but the dashes of cinnamon-spiced, oxidized apple core in the nose and flavor are slightly off-putting.

Flaska 33 cl.

33 cl bottle. Clear, deep golden liquid with medium, firm off-white head. Aroma of cereal malt, spicy yeast esters, banana, noble hops, wheat and some earth. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with estery notes and some malt. Medium bodied with spritzy carbonation and a bit sticky mouthfeel. Some alcoholic notes. Pleasant but not great.

Test vom 21.9.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,10,9,8,11,10 - 9,70

Bottled, 75cl. Golden color, with little foamy head. Aroma of malts and herbs. But taste is not what I expected. Taste was not perceptible enough. I should taste again to be sure it was not the bottle since the aroma was great...

Bottle (750ml)

Golden straw colour with a large, foamy white head with good retention and visible carbonation.
Light and hoppy in aroma with some grass and malts coming through alongside some light floral notes and a fruity, apple like aroma coupled with some sugar.
Malts and a sweet fruity aroma, mainly apples, pear and a fair amount of sugar. There is also some yeast and a touch of spice to it. The taste is a nice one and fairly well balanced.
Smooth with a slightly sticky, sweet feel to it and a light to light medium body and solid carbonation.

Enjoyable beer here with a pleasant, fruity taste and good balance although it was very sweet. It wasn’t outstanding and to be honest probably not one I’d seek out again but still quite drinkable.

Shared with my brother at a hotel room in Nice, bought at the local Carrefour
Dark golden, big white head. Smells of fruit, flowers, yeast and malts. Taste is fruity and light malty, medium sweet, some tart fruit notes in the end. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, watery feel. Light bitter finish with some nice hops. Totally this biere de garde has more dimentions that i’ve seen in other beers of that style

Blond beer, white head. Aroma of malt, grass, citrus and quite spicy yeast. Flavour is rather sweet and somewhat bitter. Not bad.
