This beer was sampled at Pitonkatonks in order to celebrate the arrival of Facto, Buck Dich and Indiana Red. This beer pours a golden color with a soapy medium white head and a nice degree of lacing. The aroma was full of yeast, hay, wheat and grass. Some smaller hints of lemon and malts. Flavor-wise this was generally light to medium bodied with a typical yeasty flavor mixed in with orange, citrus and paper. Yeah, there was also a tape-like aspect to this beer. Yeasty, orange peel and mild lemon aspect, perhaps a note of ginger as well. Mild to excessive carbonation with a note of alcohol. Not bad at all, but basic as one would expect.

75cl bottle from Carrefour Calais. Golden clear colour with thinnish white head. Gorgeous spice/herb/hop aromas and slightly woody. Creamy in mouth with vanilla, Good balanced hop finish. Excellent biere de garde. Actually thinkji that it is better than 3 monts as this has better hop flavour

Thanks to hopdog for sharing... Appears a light gold with a fluffy 2 finger white head. White film with a solid collar. Little bits of carbonation pump to the top. Smell is like champaigne spiced with honey and pepper. Tastes like champaigne spiced with honey and pepper with alcohol detected. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and spicey with a mild sweetness. This one is ok but the abv is noticable and I’m just not crazy about it.

Bottle acquired in trade with boutip (thanks!). Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of spices, citrus and hay. Tastes of lighter spices, citrus, and hay. Sweet tasting. Light alcohol in the finish.

Poured an amber golden color with a small white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of hay, barnyard, citrus, caramel, and alcohol. Taste of more caramel, citrus, black pepper, and a slight alcohol burn.

wet hay and lemon in the nose of a very pale gold, clear bodied beer with a thin ring of white fiz on the edge of the glass. a straw like flavor with some spices and sweet lemon. i thought the abv was strong, but i couldnt nail down if it was the spices or the alcohol that i was noting. a lite, easy to drink beer with a very dry finish.

Bottled, 750 ml corked, filtered. Golden amber with light bubbly head. Blonde and hoppy, a delightful French Biere de Garde, which is not something I normally say. Emphasis on hops, or houblon in French, dry and bittering. I really enjoyed this.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pilsener golden with a limited head. Lots of malt, yeast and some slight citric notes. Sweetish and full-bodied with some musty notes. 110505

Bottled (BB 05/2006)
Clear amber, creamy white head, lace. Aroma is a bit metallic, malty with hints of caramel. Starts caramelly then metallic notes in the finish (typical bière de garde). Decent malty background. Similar to Jenlain Ambrée but not so tasty.

750ml bottle. Refined appearance with lasting head and lace. Well balanced between malt, hop and yeast aromas. Some fruity and spicy fusels. Moderately sweet body with a touch of acidity in the finish and some roughness round the edges. The flavours could do with being a bit more robust to cope with the roughness.
