Nice malty aroma with a touch of white candy sugar, fresh fruits, soft spices and a little hint of flowers. This beer has a full and refreshing taste with a fine touch of spice, fruits and malts. In the afthertaste there is a fine bitterness.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good head retention, pours a nice amber colour. Smells very faintly of yeast. Taste is okay, but bit too fizzy and it doesn’t hide the alcohol very well.
Re-rate: Okay, it got better when not served too cold :) Better taste, not so sharp.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
25cl. bottle: The beer pours a golden color, with maybe a tinge of orange in there. A bit of a white, frothy head that subsided quickly. Lots of bubbles on the side of the glass. A lightly spicy aroma. Some sweetness also. The taste is a light caramel, with the still unidentified spices. Tasty, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A orange beer with a small dense head. The aroma is sweet and spicy, though I can’t pick out which spices. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel and spices and a dry hoppy end.

First what a great looking (75cl)bottle.The french do things in style.Even though it has a look of a pilsner beer,it has a reach smooth texture and a well balanced malty/nutty taste. It´s easily drinkable and for me very enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 18, 2004 (on bottle)And all of a sudden this Biere de garde was to bye from all the supermarkets in Denmark. Now I tried it, and I think I´m having me some more. A very balanced beer indeed. Slightly hazy, light brown color, nice sparkling head. A very dominant nut/caramel alcohol- aroma and a quite malty taste, not too powerfull or dominant. An easy drink, good with lamb.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: FEB 18, 2005 Frothy, light amber in color. Quite a lot of carbonation, but nice when poured hard into the glass. The body is smooth, but the aroma and flavour is really boring. The flavour landscape is too monotonous for this to be an interesting beer.

Nice golden color with a decent white fluffy head. Malty and yeasty aroma. Taste is yeasty, sweet, some vanilla too. A small hint of alcohol in the aftertaste.
