3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled this from a bottle at a beer tasting event at The Rover in Gothenburg January 14, 2006.
Golden color, very acid scent and flavor, refreshing and quite nice. Could think that it would suit well in the picnic basket a warm summer evening.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ah, Goudale. The definition of the bad Biere de Garde. This pours a highly carbonated yellow into a giant chemical head. The head settles and you sample the nose and are slightly offended by the salty French "special malts" that catch your nose and you think you are tasting a mixture of salty Nord-Pas de Calais factory fumes, a cow field, and that patiserie next to that Turk restaurant in Maubeuge that nevertheless tempted you with doughy delights each time you passed under its crusty facade. That is to say that this beer isn’t all that bad --like Nord-Pas de Calais is bearable with a cute girl on the coast in July-- but it is still bad. The alcohol is annoyingly prevalent for no apparent reason, as it supplements what is basically all grains and a complete absence of balance in the hops. The defines "super-fermented" malt-liquor that is norther French beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours golden with a small white head. The aroma is bread, cloves and corriander. The flavor is honey, grass, spice and a touch of lemon. The mouthfeel is quite nice, very smooth.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Sampled at The Rover, Göteborg.
Glden colour. Citric nose, with a cellary touch. Bit cardboardy, maybe from the cork, earthy and cellary. Citric hops. Not all to exciting.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear golden/ light brown with a white head. Substantial lacing. Medium sweet- and sourness. Vague aromas of malts spices. Dry finish. Lacks in spice- and boldness.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of tupalev. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Sweet sugary aroma of yeast and grain. Flavour is overly sweet and somewhat harsh. It’s O.K. but it’s just not for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 19, 2007 Can. Bright golden with a moderate white head. Lots of wheat and yeast in the aroma, with some herbal tea notes as well. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Flavour is quite sweet and honeyish to start, and a dry herbal finish. Alcohol gets a bit too prominent as it warms, but it’s still quite palatable, and better than a sample I had from a shared bottle a few months ago.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Jerc, Blankboy, and GregClow, obtained in a trade I did with Boutip. Nice barnyard yeast and malt aroma, with hints of alcohol - nice. Medium yellow, small white head. Alcohol, yeast, and malt in disappointingly harsh taste. Light tingly mouthfeel. Lots of yeast - funky! Dry. Interesting, but disappointing after the aroma.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Golden yellow, small white head. Muted hop aroma, some honey? Herbal spciery hops throught the flavour with muted malt. Average palate. Decent but fails to catch my attention.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2005 Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc, tupalev - courtesy of tupalev from boutip. Poured clear gold with a small off-white head. Aroma is very sweet, intensely floral, hint of caramel malt, hint of oak, ginger, pepper and yeast as it warms. Taste is a little plain - sweet, all the promise of spice fails to arrive, some yeast at the very end. Mouthfeel watery, syrupy - maybe a little peppery. Smels nice.
