330ml bottle, golden brown pour, white head, wheaty, spicy nose, caramel malt, sweet to start but gives way to dry, grassy, hoppy bitterness, lingering alcohol. A bit unbalanced but not bad.

I might not be totaly impartial since that beer is frome my hometown, but there I go... Goudale is a "Bire de Garde", a beer very close to the Belgian blond ales, Nice beer to appreciate flemish food, and may be used to cook "welsh" and "carbonade flamande". The beer has some grassy and metallic notes, witch is usual on Biere de Garde made with flemish hops, but has a sweater finish, with a bit of caramel and banana. The beer has a little bit higher level of bitterness as the average Belgian blond ale, but is still quite light, with a pinch of astringence. Goudale one of the cheapest ale you may find in almost any supermarket in France. That fact taken in account, Goudale might be one of the best balanced, all-purpose beer. Of course, because its a cheap beer, its not 100% Barley, nor very hoppy and lacks a bit of temper, but as an affordable ale, its a very nice one, overall.

750ml bottle - clear yellow golden body, thin white top. Not much in the way of nose, a bit grassy, a certain estery note. Loads of spiciness on the taste, bready notes, dough, nice Belgian elements to this. Aftertaste of banana and clove, gives the impression of a wheat beer on the way out... strange, but I like this a lot.

Espuma de boa formação e pouca persistência. Aroma de caramelo, e damasco. No sabor, damasco, comedio dulçor e amargor, que persiste um pouco no final. Final suave. Boa cerveja. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle served in a chalice glass. A: Pours a dark yellow to orange color. A bit cloudy. Forms a medium, creamy and very persistent white head with lots of lingering lacings formed and left in the glass S: Sweet and very grainy. Fruity, bready and and a little bit spicy. Quite Belgian character which is common on the French CHTI beers. Also light notes of honey, orange zest, spices and flowery hops T: Follows the nose as a quite sweet and malty beer. Fruity esters. Strong notes of bready and earthy yeasts, again, Belgian character. Also some notes of honey, coriander and orange zest which reminds a classic Belgian Triple. End is dry with a mild hoppy bitterness M: Full body. A little bit molasses. Good carbonation to the style. Dry crispy and grainy aftertaste O: Average beer and drinkability. Not that bad for a French Ale [ BA Review @ 3/25/2013 ]
