4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Presented in a nice corked bottle. The aroma is of yeast and malt with a hint of orange . The appearance of the beer is as good as the bottle's. Golden with a good white head like a freshly poured pils. Flavour wise it has that yeast start and orange flavours like most balgium beers have. However unlike Belgium beers this has quite a long, crisp, malty finish and is quite highly carbonated. A great beer either way, although it is slightly thinner on the palate than the great beers of which I have compared it to. I would definately have this one again.

Great head on this beer. The flavour is lightly hopped but generally malt, with tinges of orange. Good beer.

I bought a bottle of this at a French grocery store near the French-Belgian border. My friends’ annual 2001 Christmas beer tasting ranked it the lowest of 12 beers in the tasting. Perhaps our palates were already shot.

With my first taste, I was quickly reminded of Fantôme Pissenlit. The same flowery/dandelion taste. Hints of earth textures. The flavors hide the high ABV. Makes you want to be a rock star.

Straw and earthy pale malt flavors mix with what feels like sweet yeast and oxidized hop flavors. Some blunt fruit anchor the light medium body. Some potential but with this kind of balance everything is so boldly apparent. I could see some more floral/herbal qualities and subtract the starkest pan flavors. Still very tasty.

Smells a bit spicy, citrus. Tastes like a Tripel. Bit spicy, bit fruity/flowery. Decent beer.
