Not overly special in any area, but generally well made. Aroma - dough and yeast not very strong Appearance - Golden in color, very little haze. Strong frothy head that lingers. Taste = mildly sweet Palate - light/medium body, medium texture. Good level of carbonation. Round finish with taste of bread.

This golden bear is clear and frothy. Its medium bitterness tates food, it’s lively with a bitter palate. Not a great beer, but it’s a good try.

The best of the Biere de Gardes I’ve tried. It tasted how French stubbies used to taste to me before I got into good beer, and started to find them disgusting. YBasically it’s a very straightforward lager, amped-up to 7% with prominent, bitter/herbal noble hops and and a very dry, cerealy finish.

Quite unimpressive with loads of caramel and oranges in the aroma. Also massy of sugar poured in to make that beer drinkable. It is indeed. And nothing else.

0.75 l bottle bought in France. Unfortunately I had two unpleasant Biere de Garde experiences before, why I was little bit scared about that but the quite nice bottle (and later the RB score) gave me some hope. But unfortunately I was let down again. Appearance is quite nice: Clear orange-golden colour with low steady head and medium to smooth body. Nose was still alright: Hops and malt. But the taste!! Oh, Allmighty! Awful. It tastes of dusty dull hops, basement, rotten leaves, cemetary, rain forrest and sour barley. Hints of mint with orange toothpaste for kids. Awful bitter-sour finish. Happy that I don’t have any other Biere de Garde left at home (at least I think so).

Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear dark golden with a frothy white head. It has a very sweet note in the aroma of caramel honey, fruity esters, malt and some spicy yeast. Taste is light honey up front and then a light bitterness which is finally overrun by the crispy caramel honey finish.
