Acetobacter (816) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 9, 2010
Enjoyed from a 750ml bottle in an elongated tulip glass. The beer pours a light amber color, with a moderate off-white head. The nose shows some initial skunkyness, before transitioning to more inviting aromas of malt and subtle Belgian/Continental yeast esters. The palate replicates these items, showing Germanic malt sweetness in the approach and mid-palate, before some estery notes; the latter falling short of Trappist proportions, but fairly noticeable, just the same. Carbonation seems slightly low, but this may be more a matter of personal preference, rather than stylistic error. The finish leaves a restrained malt/ester note. Overall, a seemingly stylistically accurate beer that is pleasant, but also fairly unmemorable.

Golden, clear beer. Aroma with wheat, fruit, sugar cane. Foamy and strong head. Very bitter tingling body. Salty aftertaste. Strange beer, it’s okay. (Bottle 75 cl, I believe 2,95 EUR, bought in France)

Rune (4667) - Tromsø, NORWAY - AUG 15, 2010
330ml bottle picked up at Systembolaget Passagen in Stockholm. Pours an airy, white head atop of a clear golden body. Fine lacing to the glassware. Nuances of spiced fruits to the nose. Wheat, candy sweetness, yeasty fruitiness and a dash of earthy malts in flavour. Foamy in the mouth. Hidden alcohol. Dry and sweet on the swallow (hotel room in Malmö, 01.08.2010).

Bottled. Mildly skunked aroma, German hop, slight cauliflower, yam. Mild yeasty notes. Mostly dry. Big fluffy head. Oxidized, metallic notes sits atop what is otherwise a very pleasing flavor, bready, doughy, light and crisp and mellow. Despite the flawed aroma, this turns out to be a very nice drink.
