Bottle @ home. I’m excited to taste this beer again as the previous two times that I had it, I found in an elite class. Here goes... Slightly hazy, mostly transparent, light yellow orange appearance with a fluffy, pearl white head. Sweet orange citrusy, Belgian yeasty, bready malty nose. Slightly tart, orange citrusy, Belgian yeasty flavor. Citrusy, belgian yeasty aftertaste. Great brew but not legendary as I remembered.

Bottle acquired in trade with boutip (thanks!). Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of spices, citrus and hay. Tastes of lighter spices, citrus, and hay. Sweet tasting. Light alcohol in the finish.

Bouteille (avec MoritzF): Clear golden coloured, small, quite stable, almost creamy head; sweet-malty and fruity (honey, maroons) nose with a tinge of alcohol; sweetish-malty, a bit alcoholic flavour, nutty; short, more dry than sweet finish, a bit alcoholic, warming and a bit burning................

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2004 Not much aroma at all, but certainly nothing off-putting. Looks very drinkable in the glass with a lovely golden colour and a nice head. Good lacing throughout the drink. The taste is pleasant but slightly too sweet for my liking. A tad chewy due to its strength. I have drank this on several occasions previously, and feel I've enjoyed it more than I did today. No doubt will drink and enjoy more again.

Bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Light amber pour w/ medium head. Good retention, moderate lacing. Fruity and slightly spicy aroma. Fruity taste with notes of caramel, grass and burned popcorn. Thick texture.

(750ml bottle shared by pivnizub) Clear golden colour with a short but stable frothy white layer. Sweet honey-ish and fruity aroma with chestnuts, also slightly alcoholic. Sweet malty flavour and taste, medium bodied and carbonated MF; more dry than sweet malty and spicy finish with an alcohol warming afterburn.

500 ml can. Canned Biere de Garde... now there’s a good idea. Very pale golden brew with a creamy white head. Aroma is lightly malty with a faint spiciness and some soft woody hops. A fairly assertive earthy/spicy bitterness. As it opens up, there is a also a soft perfumey yeastiness with a touch of mint, honey and light rosemary herbaceous flavour. Nice soft palate, light herbs and spices over a softly fruity yeastiness. This is a pretty nice beer really... sort of a strong Belgian/saison combination. Finishes quite dry.

33cl bottle @ home [thanks to my parents for bringing this from holiday] shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear golden color, small off-white head. Smell malts, some sweetness, lightly a hint of sweetish wood. Taste malts, lightly sweet, a hint of hops. Low to medium carbo, a bit low bodied for a 7.2%ABV beer, but quite decent overall.

Mine was 7.2% not 7.9%. Odd...Anyway, considering the alc content this is quite a thin tasting beer. Refreshing, but too simple.

330ml bottle picked up at Systembolaget Passagen in Stockholm. Pours an airy, white head atop of a clear golden body. Fine lacing to the glassware. Nuances of spiced fruits to the nose. Wheat, candy sweetness, yeasty fruitiness and a dash of earthy malts in flavour. Foamy in the mouth. Hidden alcohol. Dry and sweet on the swallow (hotel room in Malmö, 01.08.2010).
