Slightly hazy light amber color. Smallish head, some decent lacing. Aroma is subdued and nondeScript - caramel malt, some citrus, toasted bread. Flavor is slightly salty, some sweet malt, and a dry but not hoppy finish with a slightly off metallic flavor. Easy drinking and crisp, it does have an authentic feeling to me. Nothing to write home about, but traditionally it’s a French peasant farmhouse ale brewed for field workers, and with that in mind, I enjoyed drinking it.

Blonde. Sweet. Wheaty. Nice... but just nice. (This beer rating was imported from FB and unfortunately lacks any further comments.)

Klassiskt pilsnergul färg med vitt skum ngt lite dimmig. Doft framförallt av jäst och kryddighet. Påminner mycket både i doft och smak om en belgisk blond. Mer maltig i smaken än i doften.

Small bottle 7,2%. Golden body, medium head. Perfumey aroma. Malty and citric (orange peel) taste with a quite notable alcohol burn. Sweet fruity finish with some mustiness. Quite similar to some Belgian blond ales, but less sugary and therefore feels a bit sharp due to its ABV.

A - Poured in an over sized wine glass. Clear copper with a 1 finger white head leaving a corner ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass. Very little lacing. S - Grassy yeast, bread with some honey notes, earthy grains, green apples, with some spiciness as well. T - Malty followed by a spicy citrus. Tart fruits-pears & apples. Some cereal and sour grain in the background along with mild alcohol notes. There’s also some metal present. It comes through in the aftertaste as well. The finish is tart and crisp. The metallic aftertaste of this beer bugs me. This was an ok Biere de Garde. It’s worth a try though. Serving type: bottle 08-07-2010

Pours clear golden yellow with a very small white head. The nose is straw, corn sugar, light spice like cloves and cardamom. Pastries. The taste is mostly sweet, with a mild tart and a mild bitter. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean, the body is light and finish is long. Tastes better than I expected.

75cl bottle from Leclerc Verdun. Grainy FR-Flemish stronge blonde ale with a smooth natural body but a very sharp alcoholic nose and taste that cannot wholly keep up with its exquisite natural peppery hops. Good ingredients, interesting style, sub par execution, a pity - would have fancied this as a set dinner beer given the price and 75cl bottle.
